But it seems the PA really got pissed off this time and launched their BAT (Border Action Team) comprising SSG and LeT terrorists, and severed the head of an Indian soldier coming back to his post and took it back as a war trophy.

And so the IA got pissed off too and killed a Pakistani Havildar in retaliation.

WTF is going on? Do the DGMOs on both sides have any control over the situation that can escalate to dangerous levels? Doesn't seem so.

ISPR was going to release pictures of the weapons left behind by fleeing Indian soldiers, but since India was not keen to involve UN, the PA decided not to release them and deal with the aggression accordingly. !!

The HQs are too far away in case of both parties and according to the source that KRAIT posted, the Hotline is down. The Area Commanders will have to do something to control the situation until the high-ups can arrange something.

At times like this no local commander worth his salt will respond because he knows what the Gent on the end of the phone line would want.

Hence the DGMO must issue instructions to desist till a meeting is organised, this can then be at any level.

I still do not understand why there is no hotline between Kayani and Bikram Singh when there is a similar setup India has with China to prevent things getting out of hand in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Chiefs do not have a hot line with each other -their DG Military Operations do.

Sir from what I heard honestly the Indian side (I mean the military) is not even interested in listening to what their Pak counterparts have to say. They currently have their hands full in trying to pacifying the soldiers and urging for restraint.
