indian sfs getting off road bikes

i am not sure,but i got the info from my some friends that indian special forces namely,the para commandoes and the garuds are getting training on off road bikes.

I shall post more info with pics soon.

THE TRAINING IS ON THE WAY.

A beginning order is given to chennai based altius nautomotive technologies,which is partenerd with carlifornia based hayes diversified technologies(HDT).
a small order of around 35 examples of kawasaki klr650 model is placed.

the varient to be sold commercially in india.

the same bike is in service with the nato for several years.

the reports suggesrt that the bike,if chosen for active service,will undergo0 serious modifications.
the current varient chosen for training is a 650cc,33bhp,muti-fuel varient.

The KLR650 is an amazing bike. And yes the US army does run it on diesel as well as almost any other hydrocarbon. So they are tough and they are versatile. Another close competitor (some say even better as it is air cooled) is the Suzuki DR650. Links to this information would be greatly appreciated. Especially if its going to enter commercial sales.
