This appears to be an attempt to revive interest in using snail mail.

  • The postal department would soon start 'My Stamp' facility at Head Post Office where anyone could get his or her photo printed on postage stamp.

  • The photograph would be scanned and converted into a postage stamp of Rs 5.

  • The stamp could be used as a official postage stamp.

  • A good photograph will be scanned to get it converted into postage stamp.

  • My Stamp facility has now been extended to Dharamsala Head Post Office. Now the Tourists from all over the world visiting Dharamsala as well as local residents can avail this facility at their door step.

Good idea, finally we know the actual face of the sender on letter, copying Skype postal style:cheers:

Wow!
Soon people will start mailing each other just so that they can paste their selfies as stamps.

We sure do live in weird times.

I think this is an EXCELLENT idea. In marketing terms this increases perceived value at little cost. Pay 5 bucks instead of Rs 1. Make more money, attract more people to use this otherwise obsolete medium.

I'm stunned....how the f*ck did India post become so smart and savvy? :o:
