Indian PM to visit Afghanistan

An official says Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Afghanistan in the next week to reaffirm India's commitment to Kabul as the United States seeks to reduce its troop presence.

Manmohan Singh will visit Kabul "over the next few days" for talks with president Hamid Karzai as the date for the withdrawal of US troops draws closer.

The dates for Singh's visit are not being made public due to security concerns after the killing of Osama bin Laden, the official said on Wednesday, speaking on condition of anonymity. He said Singh will announce an unspecified new aid package.

The US plans to start withdrawing troops from Afghanistan in July and hand over security responsibility to Afghan forces. NATO aims to pull all its troops out by 2014.

hmm, here comes the positioning for the endgame, IF the Americans leave, they'll prolly leave 2 or so thousand troops and incase sh*t hits the fan, they'll get back in. In the case of a political settlement with the taliban, the Americans are prolly going to make sure that the terms suit them first and then the Taliban and the Karzai govt.
In the long term (http://www.defence.pk/forums/world-...s-india-most-favoured-pakistan-unpopular.html) will play out

Yes Sir, we protected OBL, but now that he's been killed in a cowardly attack, all our calculations have gone wrong

Some people always fall face up sir, atleast in their own imagination.

Don't worry. If it came to that, we won't shy of taking the Iranian route to Afghanistan.

Ever heard of Chahbahar? :azn:

We have built some building and interests in A'stan and we know how to take care of them.

Let India have w/e control it want over Afghanistan. It still won't be able to do something againist Pakistan. Its only increasing it's influence in the region. Which it should be naturally doing as it is becoming a great power.

What a moron nation we are, we are allowing different rivals and neighbors to share us between themselves and tear us apart. Truly sad and shameful.
