Yes I've read the article. If india remains friends with Iran, how can it expect USA's help if india one day has a border conflict with Pakistan or China (e.g. Cold Start after a terrorist attack)?

Yet, india continues to take a hard stance against Pakistan, by doing Cold Start military exercises, and against China, by actions in South China Sea and border build-up. Is india really thinking it can pull off a two-front war without help from USA, and still stay friendly to Iran in spite of USA pressure?

All countries conduct militarty exercises it is a non-issue the same could be said for Pakistan and China who hold joint military exercises.

Not as much as Ahmedinejad and his Mullah superiors who is hell bent on plunging the world into another war.




So is National Security. We can get oil from KSA or other ME/African countries, but from where we will get Green Pine or Phalcon Radar (to name a few).



Lets face it dude..our game in AF is on the backs on security provided by NATO. Call be pessimistic but when they leave (which they will eventually), our game is as good as over provided our Govt send troops to AF.

Ahmedinejad bark is worse than his bite. We will still continue expanding relations with Israel in all sectors this will never change.

Afghanistan is too important a country for India to give up on, do not forgot even before 9/11 India, Russia and Iran backed the Northen Alliance over the Pakistani, UAE backed Taliban.

We must stand by the Afghani army and help train them as well as send a limit number of security forces to guard vital installations and ongoing development projects which we are doing already.

Pakistan has made many a mistake depending on China against India...
and the Friendship is supposedly Higher than stars and deeper than an the mariana trench.
American Indian frendship is nothing compared to what CHina Pakistan have

Sir, one thing we have learned since our independence is that in any conflict, we are on our own. Also, we are not pakistan who are always dependent on someone even for their basic needs.

Regarding South China Sea, we will defend our investments there. Even China does the same. And the only people talking of war are you Sir and your beloved friends.
China is a role model for developing countries in the world. You should know sir that talking of war portrays a wrong picture of your nation on the world stage.
regarding our Western neighbors, they are free all day, so they have enough time to talk about war and pull stupid theories from hats.

And we have faith in our diplomats sir.
We know how to maintain good relations with Russia/USA, Saudi Arabia/Israel, Iran/Israel, China/Japan at the same time.
We can be good friends with Israel and raise the issue of Palestine in the UN at the same time.
Very few countries can pull this off.

Pakistani diplomacy : good relations with either A or B.
Ours is : both A and B to the extent possible.

Nothing wrong in developing good ties with Iran. In fact, it is a good alternative economic partner to over-depending on Arabs for fossil fuels like oil. Leaving the ancient ties apart from the days before Islamic era, even from today's point of view, Iran is actually a positive development for our foreign policy.

They have a good approach in scientific studies, researches etc. The Iranians (commoners) are of calm demeanor and friendly. One a bilateral basis, the ties should be encouraged. We Indians are neutral and must keep relations between us and all other nations as bilateral and mutually exclusive of each other.

There's no hard and fast rule that says we cannot have Israel only as friend or Iran only as friend. If we have 2 friends and the two friends have disagreements, what stops us from maintaining ties with both? Nothing.

If india doesn't help USA contain Iran, USA will not jump to india's help in the event of conflict with China and Pakistan. So india cannot be too reckless about provoking China. Otherwise, USA would simply watch while China weakened india first because a weakened india would cooperate with Iran less.

Yet india is still provoking China in the South China Sea. Could india miscalculate badly, sending navy ships to the South China Sea but when a small naval skirmish ensues with China, USA says we won't help you india (because you're not cooperating with us on Iran), and india is left with a bloody nose and no response?

First of all India do NOT need US help(or any country's help for that matter) in a war with Pakistan... Pure for sure!

Secondly it is very foolish to look for US help in possible conflict with China... They can provide machines and loans... but they will not come to our aid very openly! Surely not with China.... Lessons from 1971, They work only for their own interests.

India - Iran ties is mainly commercial, We don't do military exercises too often.... Iran has oil, India pays and gets oil.... Exactly it is a win-win situation for both countries. US will be irked a bit.... but that does not go a long way.

China is not even able to weaken SK, Japan and Taiwan in the last 60-70 years.... Forget about weakening India.... You have a proxy... They are a headache, but surely manageable!

China provokes India in Pakistan occupied Kashmir region and like issuing stapled visas to Kashmiris..... so it is ok for India to provoke China in South China sea. You may be a imaginary dragon but that does mean the Elephant do not have any courage to fight it! Let the naval skirmish happen... Ready to face and die with courage than to surrender to weakness.
