Indian pilots are hacked to listen Pak patriotic songs

I agree and India needs to work on it to keep its flights safe

Civilian aircraft frequencies are hardly an secret. Indian hackers can do the same to Pakistani airlines. Its not an achievement to be proud of, talking from both sides.

KARACHI: Pilots of Inidan airliners are made to listen Pakistani patriotic songs while landing on the airports near to the Line of Control in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).

According to a report , when aircrafts are in final approach for landing, hackers from across the border often tap into the frequency on which pilots are in touch with Jammu air traffic control (ATC) and start transmitting Pakistani patriotic songs.

We are made to hear songs like 'Dil, dil Pakistan, jaan jaan Pakistan, a senior pilot shared the details. Hacking of our frequency has been happening for some time now, in such a situation we revert to the Northern Control in Udhampur, he said.

‘From there we contact to the local air traffic controller to be shifted to another frequency. The hackers frequently jam our frequency and start playing their music.’

Respected magazine, The Wire, in a recent report had discussed in detail about Indian cybersecurity defence mechanism, terming it weak and exposed to the hackers.

it is funny but potentially dangerous

Far from hackers, at best this is a prankster with a UHF transmitter.

And I can go ahead and start broadcasting on those frequencies.

I had a old UHF radio and would tune into Karachi ATC to listen to flights coming and going; enthusiast due it all the time

This has happened before in Pakistan at Karachi where some dude bought in a radio and started making stupid calls on Karachi ground freq; the result was that there were Rangers at this guy's place and he ended up having to pay off a lot of people to avoid jail time.

If such is happening, both the CAA of Pakistan and the Indian ministry of civil aviation have contacts who can file a complaint on such matters.

However, only the Haram-ee-G'dus that represent the majority of the Indian journalist community could spin this into some hacker story.

All fun aside, yes it sounds like it could endanger a civilian aircraft and shouldnt be done.

Its soo funny but it should be avoided
