Indian parliament witnesses Ruckus over Women's Bill

.
I dont understand one of the party who is opposing is lead by a women.Mayawati :disagree:

Yeah, that's because she wants no other woman to steal her limelight. She wants to be "The Woman". As for Laloo Prasad Yadav, he sees women only as a production factory what with his wife giving birth to nine children.

here are the following points of the bill:

1) 33% seats reserved in all houses central and state

2) women already have 50% reservation in panchayats

The Uttar Pradesh Politics is the biggest curse on Indian democracy. They have the maximum representation, and the rogue parties like BSP and SP play a major role. The regional parties have too much power, and they always give petty, regional issues more importance over national interests.

Women's Bill put to vote in Rajya Sabha amid chaos

Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari has put Women's Reservation Bill to vote without debate amid uproar by MPs. The MPs who were suspended today following their unruly behaviour in the House on Monday, held up Parliamment and raised slogans making it impossible for the proceedings to continue. They refused to leave the premises.

Finally, marshals were called in to remove the unruly MPs.

Cracking the whip on disruptive MPs, Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari suspended seven members for the remaining part of the Budget session for their unruly behaviour in the House yesterday over the Women's Reservation Bill.

Congress appeared firm on ensuring the passage of the Women’s Quota Bill in Rajya Sabha despite continuing opposition to it.

Meanwhile, a meeting of political parties supporting the Women's Reservation Bill today failed to evolve a consensus on a strategy on its passage in Rajya Sabha with BJP and Left parties demanding that a discussion be held before voting.

The meeting was called by leader of Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee to discuss a strategy to ensure a smooth passage of the Constitution amendment bill.

Sources said the meeting failed to reach a consensus on the passage of the proposed law with BJP and Left parties conveying that they wanted a discussion on it before it was put for voting.

The Opposition parties also put the onus on the government for ensuring order in the Upper House during a discussion on the measure.

What is theitr objection? That they need sub-quotas for bc women in this quota? Can someone give a link to the present text of the bill?

Ohh ok.
I found one.

Apparently the second version will let the size of parliament increase by 50%.
This is the bigger evil. Only those political parties are not realizing that this is a bigger opportunity to steal. See how stupid they are. I hope that this 50% rise does not happen at any cost... even if the bill does not pass.
