Indian origin student wins Junior Nobel; 5 out of 10 Winners in the competition are of Indian origin

Keep it real dude.

Given a half chance, almost 99.9% Indians will not even think twice to leave India and opt for education in any Western country.

I know it is bitter, but truth is never sweet.

Spot on...We are always habitual offender in accepting the truth...I think some of the discussion in PDF should be discussed without any influence of India and Pakistan rivallary. Then only, it can be a healthy discussion.

Fact is that Indian education system was not as bad as it is presented everywhere in each generation. It is an as usual typical escapist mentality that we always subscribe to have an easy answer to the complex problem. My son is going to top rating beginner school in Texas. So i beleive like me, most of the NRI parents like me understand what is the deal in so called US education system. The critical factor behind success of Indian or i will say Asian kids that includes Indian kids is their supplemental ecosystem of parents who provide additional guidiance to their kids based on their Indian education system. If those Indian kids would have gone completely in the same way like other regular kids, they would have been another tom and Joe in American talent list.

Now coming to the point of why people come out to US rather than India, answer is simple...It is all about less pain in having better quality of life in comparison to India...Even also US education system will be as equal to India in next 30 year, if the quality of life and the struggle to survive in India does not change, the eagerness to immigrate to US from India will always remain high. It is better to get real and address out situation than just celebrating a success which may be not owned by us.

This story is not applicable for NRI only, it is the story of most of the immigrant to their respective parent country.

Cranium size and capacity are the same for southerners too. Temperament is better than the Indus Swashbucklers who loves goat more than girls. More progressive and liberal. Not Negroes as you want to consider them to be.

LOL, true that, Indus swashbucklers are more keen on raiding the biriyani counter during functions and worried about what's happening in arabia and implementation of sharia in Europe than about actual personal development.

The talent exists in a higher frequency in the Indus regions of the sub-continent, no question about it, I genuinely believe folks from the north of the sub-continent have more innate ability than the southerners yet credit to the southerners they probably work four times as hard and make the most out of their more limited ability.Kudos
Hehe...I think you just proved who actually has limited intellectual capacity!

What a moron

Talking about India sitting in Pakistan is hilarious. You don't even know how India looks like or how it operates. So don't assume things. And all I can say is you are wrong. If you have money going to US is not hard. 80% of student visas gets approved in India.
things are changing in India
but for some it is easy to emigrate to the west

how do you define innate ability ??

why should talent exist in higher frequency in the Indus regions ??

Actually who will not love Biryani? :D I'm not talking about eating goats by the Indus zealots, you got the pun?

It shows there is immense talent in the sub-continent which is being destroyed by pathetic general eductation system in India and Pakistan.

Once these guys get exposed to real educational system and opportunities abroad they start shining...

Back at home, they wouldn't have done a jack and would be just average students (99% of the time, it is true).
education system in sub continent caters to the masses and they are cost effective. If you look at the cost to performance ratio subcontinent wins hands down. Only thing is that they have big market and more opportunities. If you do an equal comparison of engineers graduating out of avg colleges in US and subcontinent, ppl from subcontinent will be more capable.

We need a major overhaul in our education system, and funding in national universities. Grad studies has to be made lucrative in India to prevent undergrads to leave the country, or settle for a non productive IT jobs, in most cases.

Its not that great as I hoped, but education minister Javadekar is promoting some reforms now along the lines you are describing here (also fixing the much neglected primary and secondary schooling as well). This govt seems to be at least somewhat responsive through the portals they have created with regular aam admi. Will have to judge the results in cpl years time.

Even now there are IITs & IIM's where are ppl going? when ppl study science in IIT and go on do management in IIM it says a lot about how insecure ppl are.

If you have a big market then things will happen automatically. Even now no one goes for basic science courses bcos there is no jobs or career in India for it. Every one jumps to applied engineering bcos thats where the market is. Have you ever seen infosys or tcs building teams to conduct research or products ? All that they say is we are not getting ready made cheap monkeys for our peanut salary.

This!

Thumbs up for an honest post, unless we recognize the problem, we can not find a solution.

And I completely agree that foreigners livig in the USA/West especially from the sub-continent or other Asian countries tend to do pretty well due to their hardwork and good parenting of course!

I vouch for abolishing independent state education boards and applying a syllabus approved by the center. I did my schooling under the west bengal board of education, and in one word, it's pathetic.

Their future is bleak in India where now RSS-BJP extremists will teach them about the 1001 benefits of eating cow urine and cow dung and how Parmanu bum was invented by Parameshwar Maharishi 7000 years ago. Yes, that English which you hate and which you RSS fellows wants to replace in India with Hindi which helps those students to progress. English education, Liberal thinking - These are two things Sanghis and Mu-Sanghis are against at.

RSS has a hold on just some uneducated pockets.
Hindi movement is long gone.
And if you guys can make tall claims from the past, why can't the RSS?

It's so cool how 'five out of 10 winners were Indian origin' became sub continent is immensely talented.
Then the dude goes on to sermonize about India's education system.
Nice try brah
