US, off-late has extensively engaged India enhancing the economic interaction and initiating a strategic partnership while attempting to garner Indian support for a countervailing and hedging effort against rising China. Apparently however, still immersed in the cold war farce of non-aligned neutrality syndrome, Indians have not reciprocated in the manner US expected it to. Therefore, without assimilating Japan and South Korea, India US strategic partnership is likely to remain an intellectual strategic discussion forum and nothing beyond.

It clearly means that, with the presence of powerful navies of the world in Indian Ocean, Indian Navy is essentially all dressed up but nowhere to go, unless it acquiesces to US demands as its closest allies, Japan, UK and Israel reciprocate.
Secondly, because the Chinese need access to Indian Ocean, they have augmented their presence in Burma, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
What can Indian Navy do besides fighting pirates;
Block Malacca Straits where such a large percentage of oil and trade passes through - No way.
Block Bab el Mandab which critically links European oil and trade with Asia - Not a chance.
Block the Persian Gulf with US 7th Fleet sitting there - Out of question.
Establish a naval blockade of a nuclear Pakistan, which is needed for access to Afghanistan by the US and China needs access to international trade zones - you must be out of your mind.
Therefore, Indian Navy nun bandran di laal kurti pahnao, dugdugi bajao, bandari vargan nachao te maze lutto.
