Why is this tender different from the earlier one of 16?? couldnt we just add 16 more to this one?? Both the tenders are for multi role naval choppers and will probably have the same competitors.

Who are the other 4 contenders ? Also there's no mention in the article that NH90 is participating...

Whilst the NH-90 looks cool, it appears the S-70 is the clear front runner and is the most advanced such platform in it's class anyway.

NH90 and S-70 are participating in 16 multi role helicopter competition and now Sikorsky is joining this competition and they are offering US Navy's latest MH-60 ‘Romeo’ which was earlier offered to us via FMS and it is now the strongest competitor in this race.
Whoever will be the winner but i think French weapons are always expensive as compared to rest of the world. Same is the case here also, NH90 is more expensive than S-70. But the decision is in the hands of MOD.

@Birbal what's your nationality? Dhruv 70percent not made by indian parts?.... By the way what you mean india shouldn't buy military weapons and build rather?.... Are you saying we should be defenceless while building our own weapons?.... India should buy as much as it could. Atleast indian people would get security. If india dont buy weapons then indian tax money would go in swiss bank through criminal congress.... Weapons building chalta rahega.... First we should guard our nation and protect it and should be ready.... Am watching you since long mr birbal (couple of months).... At times am confused by your comments.... Now ur 2 flags making me even more confused.... i mean would you like to roam near taj hotel on 26/11?.... (Thats when u have indian passport....)
