Indian Navy Gets Quotes From 4 Jet Makers for $15 Billion Naval Fighter Deal

2020? Absolutely no way. I give u till 2025 the earliest.

Five year late is early for India.

Indian government is idiot.

This is wasting time. Either go for Rafale F3 or F35C. Why the **** waste time?

Waiting another 10 years for the longgggggg bidding process?

Why India doesn't buy FC35? Or USA doesn't sell?

For me, it's totally tantalize to get attention.

During the bidding process, Indian officials will be wined and dined and lavish with gifts, trips and even money. Why pass up such an opportunity for personal gains.

"Hopefully, we will select and shall have deck-based carrier airborne fighter in next 4-5 years," Admiral Lanba added.
We don't buy in single vendor situations thats why it always take time and we choose best out of them. Currently navy is being briefed on F/A-18 of Boeing, so it will take atleast a year to choose & order.

Its ok for me if the bidding can finish within 3 years.

:-)
Do you believe your own words?

Do you still belief you are more than a zombie brain ?

I wonder why mighty indian Flanker is not even the initial list something like su33mki.
Indian Flanker love story is over so?
And yea typcial Indian defence news who are opened half century before its execution as usual.

I wonder, if you zombie head realise that not all fighter jets fly from Air craft carrier....

Currently, six planes are compatible for aircraft carrier. They are Rafale, F-18 Super Hornet, MIG-29K, F-35B and F-35C and Gripen

You forgot Su33, Mig 29 and Mig 35.

Why ban me? I'm just telling the truth. Indian navy likes Rafale F3, a government to government deal will be just fine.

F18/Mig29K/Grippen will be only escort runner, the result of the bidding has no doubt at all.

And I Wonder you Indian head might not know that Su33 is Specialized Carrier based Aircraft

If India keeps turning down USA fighter, it will influence the initiative of the Yankees.

Don't ever try to tantalize USA for that much, you will have to pay the price.

I think India should straightly sign a contract with Dassult to buy Rafale F3, this is a good way to avoid offending Russia and USA.

So what about naval Tejas?
I though that Tejas will finally find some future with Navy but this new multi billion contract seems to ruin that opportunity as well. Sad.

Again zombie head, Su33 is not " Indian Flanker " lol.

And Su33 is out of production a long time back.

Grow some grey cells in your head first.

What about the AMCA Program?

The aircrafts are needed by 2020, not after 2025.

make in India or assemble in India?

All these are to be bought " off the self" .

57 is too small a number to seek a production line.

The NP[Naval Prototype of LCA] 3,4,5,6 and 7 are still not flying.

Certifying a Fighter Jet for Carrier operations is no small task, and there are only 6 active duty carrier fighter jets, with only 3 presently in production.

There is no short cut in certifying a Fighter Jet for Carrier operations, and it will follow its normal development curve. There will be failures and milestones in its development, and India is committed to Naval LCA.

And yes, Naval LCA is not Tejas.
