As for the radar on the 52C destroyer, it doesn't use the Ukrainian radar but a Chinese developed one. Read the post again. The name may be the same, but the capability is different

90s Aegis (with out BMD) is an integrated combat system many country have similar systems on their own including India. Aegis may be the best but similar systems are there. They just didn't give any fancy name!

But India has no scorpene and akula. P-8I hash not developed yet.

Next month we are getting Akula and we are building Scorpenes with ToT. P-8I is developed and flight testing is going on.

Stop posting purchased/leased weapons that has not even been delivered. First, get them and learn how to operate them, and then boast about them.

In early 2004 reports from the Ukraine noted that China had purchased a Ukrainian phased array radar for a new class of destroyers. The Ukranian radar does not equip the 052C. Purchase does not mean use. Instead it was more likely to have been purchased for evaluation purposes. There are no foreign components on the 052C.

Why did this Ukranian radar fail to be equipped despite it being SUPERIOR in many ways, such as being more accurate and costing less?

Because of the smaller range alone.

Phase-II of Indian BMD was in process.DRDO is currently designing a ship with all radar systems and missie launch containers onboard.

With a fresh interceptor missile test in the endo-atmosphere planned in a couple of months, some more trials were planned for 2010-11 and 2011-12 to ensure reliability, repeatability and suitability for deploying phase-1assets, Dr. Saraswat said.

Simultaneously, DRDO scientists have started work on phase-II solutions. It requires radars of longer range and new hypersonic interceptor missiles flying at Mach 6 with agility and the capability to discriminate against ballistic missile defence counter measures. “Our effort is to have interception at very high altitudes, and the entire system will be able to handle multiple, simultaneous attacks,” he said.

A crucial requirement for the second phase is a floating test-range — a complete launch station from which interceptors will be fired. Scientists have started designing the ship and associated systems such as radar, mission control centre, launch control centre, communication network and many other equipment needed for phase-II trials.
The ‘capability-based deployment,' under which a system would be put to use, as it got perfected, had paid rich dividends for some countries, Dr. Saraswat said. The entire work on the two phases was planned to be completed by 2016.

P-15B will see BMD deployment.On putting things in a systematic manner, BMD phase-II i.e new PDV interceptor development to hit target at an altitude of 200+ km at a range of 300km+ will be ready finishing its test flights.Landbased variant will be deployed by 2017 as the earliest,while the sea based one will roll out on P-15B.

I believe that India military is now "focus" on China instead of Pakistan. Its just sad to regard another country as an enemy without justification. Its another thing to openly regards others as friends but work to undermine another country such as what US is doing to Russia and China and China is doing to US. Its another thing to openly declare defeating the arm forces of China and Pakistan in 96 hours. Even the US doesn't make this kind of claims.
