Indian Nationals Arrested by BDR

Bangladesh ranked third about four years ago in highest amount of remittances sent in to India from overseas. It's Indians who are sucking us dry.

There are more than 500,000 Indians (mostly illegal tourist visa over-stayers) in Bangladesh. Thank your stars Bangladeshis are tolerant and there is no RSS, BJP or VSS in Bangladesh like in intolerant India.

Gag yourself. Post some pictures about how 'advanced' Dharavi and Dhobi Ghaut has gotten lately.

Why not post pics like these.....there are good and bad faces of every city across the globe and mumbai isn't an exception.......bt saying all this will fall on deaf ears .....cos u my frnd looks like wana scale new heights in trolling :D ......keep it up :enjoy:

Blah Blah :blah:

How conveniently we skirt the issue by posting pictures of skyscrapers pitched up 60 floors which probably don't even compare to a 3rd-tier city in China. Meanwhile Dharavi and Dhobi Ghaut remain the seedy festering messes they always have been. How come we don't see these messes anywhere in China? Maybe Indian Mgmt. vs. Chinese Mgmt.?? Who should we emulate as we grow our economy and capitalize our infrastructure?

The actual point I was trying to make (and which most of you countering me either failed to catch on to or carefully avoided) was that there are enough illegal Indians in Bangladesh. Check my post #16 above with the two links. Enough to put a pin-prick in your balloon of 'Rich India' theory replete with illegal Bangladeshis. If India is so Gosh-darned 'first world' then why are there 500,000 Indians illegally staying and making a living in Bangladesh? Why don't they leave? And these aren't Rickshaw puller jobs either. Look at the amount of remittances paid to India in the first link. You can't be selectively blind or deaf to it. If you don't want to argue on point - then don't mask that by calling it trolling.

This just goes on to prove the nature and 'aukat' of certain groups (RSS, Shiv Sena etc.) in India vs. the attitude of even extremist groups in Bangladesh about migrant populations.

Show one credible proof for this remittance.
500,000 people getting over $3 billion in remittance is $6000 per year per person.

The truth is, Indians are peeved because Bangladeshis and Pakistanis are a separate entity and do not follow the unappealing Indian culture, this is what they are butt hurt about, plain and simple. Every single thread turns into a genealogy debate and they are obsessed with Pakistan and Bangladesh and what the countries are up to.

Those people who dnt even have their own language, borrowed from India. Urdu and Bangali both belongs to India.
First develop your own language then talk.

Ha Ha :lol::lol::lol:

Am I supposed to be impressed? Go try impressing somebody in the China forum, and don't even try in the US or any first world forums. For a country of 1.2 billion people - this is all you got? A few short fifty mile stretches of eight lane highways and the Bandra-Worli sealink? Some non-descript airports and urban metros? Even Pakistani Highways which were built some twenty years ago look better than this. Barey Barey kumirer baccha dekhiye ki luv Dada?

I think I'd be more impressed if you showed me how slum-dwellers in all the major Indian cities were rehabilitated and given jobs and living quarters that are worth their human dignity. And proper places to wash up and relieve themselves. And not showcase projects like these that lined the pockets of some filthy politician and their henchmen. You and billions of your Indian friends vote these suckers in every year and helped line their very pockets and their Swiss/Singapore bank accounts in the name of 'Democracy'. Democracy never suited the people of the subcontinent. What they need is 'Danda' and discipline. And a benevolent dictator like Lee Kuan . People whose trumpet you so joyfully blow - have screwed you over so royally.

I'm getting tired of juvenile posters posting pictures of capital projects...

.
I wonder why inferior Bangladeshis try to compare themselves with other people.
One Indian state like Maharashtra has a higher GDP, higher literacy rate and higher Human Development
than whole Bangladesh. Bangladeshis are mostly known for doing menial labour in India.

Motive of your post?? Or just you are happy to undermine India?

Coming from a country with such pathetic infrastructure, you are supposed to be impressed?

A few short fifty mile stretches of eight lane highways and the Bandra-Worli sealink?

50 short miles ?Are you pulling these figures out of your ***? Go check the length of that particular road itself. There are several more 8 lane & 6 lane highways/expressways in India.

Some non-descript airports

And the fact is virtually every Indian airport has a modern glass & steel terminal, while Banglodesh doesn't even have one comparable with an Indian tier 3 airport.

and urban metros?

India would have 8 rapid transit systems by the end of 2014,with 4 more metro rails under construction. And not to mention BRT systems.Meanwhile in Dhaka...

Even Pakistani Highways which were built some twenty years ago look better than this.

Huh,I am a frequent visitor of Pakistani section in SSC & development in Pakistan thread,so I know how Pakistani highways look.

Why would I try to undermine India? It is what it is with misplaced priorities of spending on showcase projects and defense. But the point -as always, that I'm trying to make is that showing 0.2 percent of a country with somewhat developed infrastructure does not show what the rest of the country looks like. I'll admit that there aren't slums everywhere in India, but the pictures above still don't portray the real India which isn't very 'presentable' on PDF.

While China, Korea and Japan have in the last century lifted themselves out to first world status in less than thirty years - that feat hasn't been duplicated in India.

Ergo - my point is that India (as the communal and political mess it is) cannot be an ideal for Bangladesh to emulate or duplicate. Rather - India has a lot to learn from Bangladesh on social uplift fronts. And it is not Hasina who has done any of this like some Kolkata PDF-ers so loudly proclaim. The Nobel Prize for peace went to Dr. Yunus, not Hasina. And there are a lot of unnamed Dr. Yunus-es in Bangladesh.

Who told you its 0.2%? Go check the length of 4/6 lane national highways,no of modernised aiports & cities having rapid transit systems-that is far far more than 0.2%

China, Korea and Japan have in the last century lifted themselves out to first world status in less

China is still a developing country FYI.

It is what it is with mislaced priorities of spending on showcase projects and defense

Spending on infrastructure is waste? And FYI we spend only 2% of our GDP in defense.

Do we have to re-hash this again? Getting a little tired of this. Please READ the Links before commenting again. This is from your own media. This is what building a first-world country entails. Not emptying the exchequer by building 6000 crore ring roads/bridges and lining politicians' bank-balances in Singapore. Loot-Taraaz on a grand scale.

This is data a couple of years old. Some changes may have taken place but not by far.

The superiority of the indicators in Bangladesh are due to two overwhelming reasons which India for some reason or the other has failed to mobilize,
  1. Much higher public health expenditure as a proportion of the GDP, and
  2. Vigorous private NGO involvement for HDI service delivery as opposed to weak (ineffective) Govt. Institutions.
In other words, better management of these factors compared to the way India has handled them.

You are right...BD in last 10 years has done some quite bit of good work in its social indicators..
