Indian mosque bulldozed in defiance of high court order

That would be a pretty stupid idea. Destroying the places of worship of other Pakistanis, your own brothers and sisters, for what an Indian has done in his land shows bankruptcy of both mental and moral faculties.
A place where they worship idols doesn't have any place in our religion. It should be destroyed, as destroyed earlier by famous muslim warriors. Things change but religion stays same.

The places of worship of all non-Muslims in all Muslim states are protected under divine guarantee by Allah himself, unless they are a source of anti-state activities as is also the case with mosques. Best you first learn your religion before imposing it on others. Is it your religion though?

A local administration in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has defied a state high court order and bulldozed a mosque, in one of the most inflammatory actions taken against a Muslim place of worship since the demolition of the Babri Mosque by a mob of Hindu nationalist rioters in 1992.

The mosque, in the city of Ram Sanehi Ghat in Uttar Pradesh, had stood for at least six decades, since the time of British rule, according to documents held by its committee.

On Monday, police and security services moved into the area and cleared it of people, then brought in bulldozers and demolished the mosque buildings. Debris was then thrown into a river, according to images and local accounts. Security services have been deployed to prevent anyone coming within a mile of where the mosque stood.

The state government of Uttar Pradesh is controlled by the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), which also governs at national level.

The chief minister is a hardline Hindu nationalist called Yogi Adityanath, who is known for his vitriol against Muslims. He has made speeches laced with Islamophobia, referred to Muslims as terrorists, and passed legislation openly discriminatory to Muslims.

A local imam, Maulana Abdul Mustafa, who is on the mosque committee, said the mosque was “hundreds of years old” and that “thousands of people have been coming here five times a day to offer namaz [prayer]”.

“All Muslims were scared, so no one went near the mosque or dared to protest when the mosque was being demolished. Even today, several dozen people are leaving their homes and hiding in other areas out of the fear of the police.”

Adarsh Singh, a district magistrate, said: “I do not know any mosque. I know there was an illegal structure. The Uttar Pradesh high court declared it illegal. That’s why the regional senior district magistrate took action. I will not say anything else.”

The demolition was in violation of a high court order issued on 24 April, which stated that buildings in the state should be protected from any eviction or demolition until 31 May “in the wake of the upsurge of the pandemic”.

The mosque’s presence has been contested by the local administration, which on 15 March issued a “show cause” notice to the mosque committee asking them to present documentary evidence for the ownership of the land and citing a court directive where illegal religious constructions could be demolished if they caused traffic obstructions.
The mosque committee say they sent a detailed response, including documents demonstrating the building had an electricity connection from 1959 and showing no mosque structures were obstructing the road, but the local administration did not take the response on to official record.
On 18 March, the mosque committee went to the Allahabad high court citing concerns that the mosque faced “imminent demolition”. The high court ruled that the local administration was only alleging “certain other constructions have illegally been raised which include residential rooms” on the land, rather threatening to demolish the mosque.
In the following days, local Muslims say the administration began building a permanent structure to block access to the mosque.
On 19 March, local Muslims were prevented from entering the mosque for Friday prayers, causing tension and protests in the area. Over 35 local Muslims who were protesting were arrested and put in jail, where many are still held, and police reports were filed against the demonstrators.

In a ruling on 24 April, taking in the circumstances of the pandemic, Allahabad high court then ordered that “any orders of eviction, dispossession or demolition …shall remain in abeyance until 31.05.21”.

However, the administration went ahead with the demolition of the mosque structures on Monday afternoon. Local Muslims in the area, including members of the mosque committee, said they had gone into hiding over fears they would be targeted and arrested.

A statement by Zafur Ahmad Faruqi, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf board, said: “I strongly condemn the patently illegal and high-handed action… by which they have demolished a 100 year old mosque”.

Faruqi said the demolition was “against the law, a misuse of power and in utter violation of the clear orders dated 24.04.2020 passed by the Hon’ble High Court” and called for a high-level judicial enquiry.

The district where the mosque is located is adjacent to Ayodhya, where the Babri Mosque stood before its demolition in 1992. In a significant court ruling in 2019, judges declared that the land legally belonged to Hindus, rather than Muslims, and a new Ram Temple is under construction on the site where the Babri Mosque stood formerly.

Unbelievable, BJP couldn't find Oxygen but busy with oppression with Muslims

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for a diplomatic boycott of next year's Winter Olympics in Beijing due to concerns over human rights abuses.

While athletes would still participate, Ms Pelosi said heads of state should not attend.

Ms Pelosi said the US could not proceed as if nothing was wrong with the Olympics being held in China.

She is the latest American politician to call for a boycott over the treatment of Uyghur Muslims.

China is believed to have detained more than a million Uyghurs and other Muslims in Xinjiang, a large region in north-western China.

Most of those detained in Xinjiang are sent to "re-education" facilities - prison-like camps where they are held for indeterminate periods of time without charge.

Ms Pelosi, a Democrat, told a bipartisan congressional hearing on the issue that heads of state around the world should boycott the Winter Olympics, which are to take place in February.

"Let's not honour the Chinese government by having heads of state go to China," she said.

"For heads of state to go to China in light of a genocide that is ongoing - while you're sitting there in your seat - really begs the question, what moral authority do you have to speak again about human rights any place in the world?" she said.

There is no evidence of genocide in Xinjiang, so rather than really boycott which the US did in 1980 Moscow Olympics to protest Soviet invasion of Afghanistan the US will participate in 2022 Beijing Olympics.

Illegal construction should be removed . We have so less space in India to build anything .

How was it illegal ?

See post# 24.

Also, again, from the OP :
Local officials in Uttar Pradesh demolish mosque that had stood since time of British rule

And what about the thousands of illegal Hindu temples in India that come up in parks, under trees and on footpaths ? Shouldn't those be removed ?

Besides, shouldn't Chief Minister Yogi be active in COVID management than be busy in his usual anti-Muslim tirades ?

Don't temples and Mosques in Pakistan get demolished if they are against building codes?

What building codes was this mosque violating ?

I am not a mosque-going person but I must ask you that.

I am so so thankful to the "Two Nation Theory" drafted and implemented by the founding fathers of Pakistan.

The Two Nation Theory was certainly adopted by the Pakistan Movement but it originated in the poisonous minds of the Hindutvadis. The Congress party leader Shashi Tharoor said this :
Speaking at the session 'Shashi on Shashi' with Micheal Dwyer on Day 2 of the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), Mr Tharoor claimed that the Hindutva movement started by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar categorically rejected the Constitution.

He said that for Savarkar, a Hindu was one for whom India was his fatherland and holy land. Muslims and Christians were not considered in this.

"Savarkar, Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar and Deen Dyal Upadhay rejected the constitution and in fact agreed with the Muslims that religion should determine nationhood. In the historical sense, the first advocate of the two-nation theory was actually Savarkar, who as the head of the Hindu Mahasabha called upon India to recognise Hindus and Muslims as part of two separate nations three years before the Pakistan Muslim League passed the Pakistan Resolution in Lahore in 1940," he said.

Mr Tharoor further said that according to them, the Constitution was full of imported ideas written in the wrong language - English.

"Another flaw they pointed out was that it assumes that the nation of India is a territory and it's (constitution) written for all the people on the territory. Nation is not a territory but its people and the people of India are only Hindus," he said.
So don't be hasty in championing the TNT.

Thanks for the info, if possible can you provide me a link of reference so that I can read the dynamics on reasons behind TNT so that I am able to make a informed response.
