Indian Modi cancels Registration of world's largest Environment organization - Greepeace !

:woot: what, sunni majority Syria and shia majority Iraq were "multi cultural" ?

there are a few other peoples in those lands too... diverse.

some serious googling will let you know.

sorry to break it to you but your version of a utopian communist "money less" society is not happening, not now, and not in any distant future.. only everyone will have even less money if we let you in charge..

you see, you are stuck in a infinite loop of limited reality, unable to think beyond the today... can you give me one reason why money should continue to exist by 2025??

what when by 2035 there is a little community on mars, should they have taken with them the unrequired system of economics, rather than have taken a scientific and simple one??

you should read "the communist manifesto" produced in 1848 and also the gaddafi essay i posted earlier.

and to help yourself you need say only once calmly the che guevara statement from decades back - "another world is possible".

forget the immediate-practical, think of the logical-possible.

1 billion+ diverse people, you idiot... and all you got is:

:sarcastic:

what he holds, plus a expansion/modernization of it, is enough for 7+ billion, at the moment, why only 1+ billion.

toodle do.

Can you come up with figures of subsidy and how it is applied?

I don't think so. The present Hajj cost through Government agency ranges between Rs. 2.1-2.3 Lakh and private ranges between Rs. 2.7-3.2 Lakh. Not much of a difference that it will deter the lower classes to abandon the idea.

There are special sections and facilities for Amarnath and other pilgrimage provided by government as well, so this isn't some kind of favour for Indian muslims alone.

Why would only the muslims get subsisides? all are equal in India regardless how loud the idiots scream discrimination

Though I consider myself an environmentalist and agree that Green Peace fights for a good cause, they actual actions have become despicable.

Half a year ago they did this to the famous Nazca lines in Peru.

Though it's gone now the damage is still apparent.

A Mars colony can never be self sustainable for centuries, so any sort of human settlement in Mars will be experimental in nature and not to set up a permanent habitat to support the whole ecosystem. The technology that will be employed in Mars habitat will made to be researched upon, developed and manufactured in Earth, specifically in US and EU.
Now talking about the perspective of monetary point of view, developing technology will take money, billions of it, as not every bit of of technology can be developed on an off the shelf emulator , software and bread boards. And there has to be monetary incentives for younger generations to take up STEM fields for a better way of life.

"If a nation treats its potato farmers and its nuclear physicists in the same way, there will be eventually only potato farmers in the country."

And given human tendency, if people are provided with an easy way of life, they lose their motivation to strive for betterment, as that is quite evident from few examples who 'gets by' in their daily life responsibilities. So, the future of monetary benefits is bright for thousands of years to come, as it was bright thousands of years ago.

A bright example can be sought from the plight of physicists, engineers and scientists from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics for a better life in the western capitalist society. The same reason there has never been any development in Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea for five decades, and people are ready for the consequence to be in front of shooting squad just to run away from that wretched piece of land.

This isn't the answer to my question and as far as your rant is concerned. Well Indian muslims did not ask for any subsidies. So go ask your "Nationalist" Government to get rid of it. Why did the previous "Nationalist" government led by Vajpayee not abolish this subsidy since "Khangress" was anyways hopeless?

My family was once poor, had we been given a easy way of life, we wouldn't be here.

blame the political system.

besides, nobody should have more money or resources than they actually need.

and what is this "easy way of life"??

hardly a bright example that.

those scientists left for the west when difficulties came after the dissolution of the ussr, in the same way that many iraqis emigrated after the 2003 invasion.

The same reason there has never been any development in Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea for five decades, and people are ready for the consequence to be in front of shooting squad just to run away from that wretched piece of land.

that "wretched piece of land" is far more self-sufficient than india in comparative circumstance.

No because it was more of a political decision of Congress. It was sort of a compensation after Babri Masjid demolition.

please stop making things up. The Haj subsidy started in the British era and was expanded by the Nehru govt in the 1950's.

i had read in a pdf article that hajj subsidy was started after the 1965 war with pakistan.

wasn't wise of him but i won't mind if this subsidy is withdrawn immediately and that article said that the supreme court had passed a order in 2012 declaring its end in 10 years.

good thing... islamically, the hajj is enough when performed once in a lifetime and that too when possible, especially economically... lot of indians used the subsidy to be professional hajis, doing hajj two or three three times every five or seven years... i find that obscene and anti-islamic.

Well mate... The Hajj subsidy was existent since British era but it was a meagre amount when compared to the increase in subsidy after 1992. The below excerpt proves my point

"According to a newspaper report which the CC has not been able to independently confirm, in 1992, the government paid Rs.2,000 to the airline as subsidy. This year, while the hajis still paid only Rs.12,000, the government’s subsidy per haji shot up to Rs.20,000. In other words, the subsidy for haj has spiralled from 16.7 per cent in 1992 to a whopping 62.5 per cent now. The Narasimha Rao government apparently saw this as one way of assuaging Muslim sentiments inflamed with the Congress government’s inaction during the demolition of the Babri Masjid and the countrywide riots that followed. Ironically, the two successive BJP-led governments, too, hiked the subsidy amount since 1998."

Subsidies only go up when the political parties try to use it as a vote bank incentive. Once given it takes a near-revolution to cancel. India is so full of subsidies in every which way you look. This is one of the reasons Modi got elected - his famous 'no free electricity' thing in Gujarat.

I hope he will be able to execute such principled development at the centre as well.
