Khalid's kin warn govt against Sarabjit's handover


Lahore, Mar 27: The family of Pakistani national Khalid Mehmood who died in an Indian jail last month, has demanded of the new government that it should first ensure registration of an FIR against the Indian jail authorities under whose custody he died, before exonerating Indian national Sarabjit Singh of terror charges and hand over him to India.

Mehmood's family members warned the new government of "severe consequences" if it tried to exonerate Sarabjit Singh without addressing their grievances first. The deceased's brother Fattah Muhammad Siddique said that his family was not against Sarabjit's release, but argued that the Pakistan government should get 200-300 Pakistani prisoners released from different Indian jails before deciding to exonerate Sarabjit.

He said that Khalid Mehmood's entire family would storm the Wagha Border if the government handed over Sarabjit to India as they did in Kashmir Singh's case. He lambasted the government for not yet approaching New Delhi for registering an FIR against the Indian officials under whose custody he died.

He also demanded of the government to seek assistance of International Court of Justice in this case so that the mystery of Mehmood's death could be unearthed without any delay, as reported by The News.

Khalid Mehmood's mother Kareeman Bibi also appealed to the new government that her family should be provided with justice. She claimed that she had met her son in the Indian Jail in 2006 and that his condition was not stable as he was severely tortured by the Indian police officials.

The fact is Pakistani authorities did nothing to save their citizen who was in need of help........why blame India for everything......Pakistani Administration could have done for Him what India did for Kashmir Singh......Pakistan government never did anything....this makes police believe that he was working against India......and hence the so called and claimed torture or 3rd degree was forced upon him......which he could not sustain.....

Kashmir Singh admitted he was an Indian spy in Pakistan. He languished thirty-five years in Pakistani jail. He is back in India now. But he made some statements that can be the biggest shame for India and Indian political leaders.

He deplored that successive governments at the Centre did nothing for his family. "After my arrest in 1974, the successive governments did nothing for my family. I did the duty assigned to me as a spy. The government after my arrest did not bother to spend a single penny for my family," said Singh and his wife.

It is a shame for India. The politicians care little about Indian heroes and military personnel sacrificing their life for the nation. It is all about money and servicing the 100 or so oligarch families in India that control 75% of the economy and 100% of central, federal and local governments.

India paid me Rs 400 per month as salary ($10), I went to serve the country. When I was caught and thrown into jail the Indian politicians of all the parties looked the other way.

Our soldiers from 1971 prisoned behind closed dark cells dying in your Jails from last almost 40 years, we know how you treat them and i am pretty sure yall make their lives living hell on earth.
