Indian Media gone full retard

But maybe it will. Civilian government in Pakistan has never gotten a chance to dictate India policy. So we don't actually know.

All we know for sure is that till ISI/Army dictates policy things will never change. These institutions wield power solely due to the situation they have created with India, so no reason for them to ever do anything different.

I think people like Sharif and Zardari are easy to understand. They want to stay in power and make money. It would be easy to deal with them if not for GHQ.

Can you blame the military for not trusting these clowns with Pakistan's foreign policy. If there was an honest and credible civilian govt then i am sure Military will take a back seat on it.

But Imad regardless of whether or not the civilian governments are exemplary, they have to be given their due. Maybe a country can have an extreme situation like civil war or some emergency where temporarily constitutional mandate is suspended. But if that is the default situation then you have to ask yourself a simple question - if the people of Pakistan are so incapable of forming a government of their choice, then where does the belief that they are fit to be a nation arise from?

It's not as if India has not been cursed with a bad political leadership. Yet, for all the complaining, we have to sadly accept the fact that they are in our own image and represent us, no matter how ugly the picture is. If we didn't accept that, it would mean that sovereignty did not lie with the people.

Within our Constitutional framework, the only way of keeping the government earnest is either through ballot or through public agitation. Unfortunately South Asia has not been good at either. And yet, whatever the failing, we have to be collectively responsible for it and change it if possible.

Pakistan's security apparatus is an institution. And like any institution it has its own vested interests. If you see the vested interests then you will see the reason why the current situation exists.

I agree with your logic, but the circumstances in Pakistan dictate that i should be pessimistic with these crooks that are/have been in power. These guys will do anything for money. Say tomorrow someone pays them a $1B to start a war with India, do you think they will hesitate?. Atleast the military will check to see if we are ready to go to war and will take repercussions seriously. Sometime back there were news that some politician had requested the US assistance in getting into power and in return they will give US access to Pakistan Nukes.

Okay. I can agree there is a slight dissonance in India's interests and that of Pakistani citizens. All India wants is a non-hostile Pakistan, and of course if it could be achieved by bribing Sharif or Zardari then why not?

I understand that does not mean either or any other political leader is good for Pakistani people. Ultimately that is a question Pakistani people themselves have to decide.
