Joe - your posts suggest a high grade brain matter. You meet or associate with what I would describe as the devil mind - either you are very naive or very trustworthy. It would have taken me 2 minutes to assess him and walk awayAnyone with the capacity to post such horrendous words is perhaps looking at the next level and committing the acts he suggests?
I think it’s a feather in the cap of PDF in ousting scum like and trying to moderate an upstanding forum.
I don’t wish to embarrass your friend jbgt90 anymore than I have - needless to say he is slightly higher intellect than this rabid animal and is able to mask his intent and directive. Let’s agree to disagree as regards to his character.
Warm regards…….
More cavalry alerted. Nothing to say about your countryman? Trying to dilute the thread by deflecting? What he suggested online was utter disgraceful and is vile - hope he gets a long sentence at the least. On the other hand you continue looking at the posters and disregard the topic
To be honest, the rather icky individual whom I met, thanks to jbgt90's misplaced zeal in getting together people just because they were fellow members of PDF, was nothing special; just a lacklustre person with very strange personal habits. None of the vileness now on public display showed up, except for his peculiar behaviour on one or two personal quirks.
Let me also correct your misapprehension about their capacity to do in real life what they threaten to do on line. NONE of these creeps have the guts to stand up and say face to face what they have the courage to say behind the anonymity of the Internet. If ever they summon up the courage to even act violent - a distance away from being violent - it can only be from inside the safety of a large group. That is the same behaviour that their masters and political icons display in their public life and their public statements - not surprising.
So your assessment is one that is standing on its head; far from displaying behaviour that would hint at worse actions, this despicable character was not even bold enough to say that he hated Muslims and Christians and Dalits, the usual hate speech that these vermin run out when they think they are safe, and I doubt very strongly that he would do anything out of the ordinary, anything beyond making a grimace and uttering vile language in an undertone.
As far as PDF cleaning out scum like that is concerned, my own view of what happened on PDF is different. For years, I have begged and pleaded with those moderators who stood like rocks in my defence against the Sanghi packs that attacked me to take their defensive actions forward, to throw out the worst offenders. To my horror, when waz did what he did, at a time when I was deeply involved professionally and had not been on board for some time, he not only threw out the scum, but also some very balanced Indians, who should have been encouraged to stay on. As it is, many bad apples and some good ones went away all together and formed an Indian forum, one that lacked the values of the older PDF, and turned out to be a mirror of the new PDF. I am not an admirer of the present level of discussion and dialogue that is available on PDF today, and that is, for your information, only partly due to the absence of thoughtful and balanced Indian opinion, few as those voices were; it is more because of a sudden rise in stridency and a sudden egregious display of bad manners by Pakistani members. If at all PDF had wished to clean up, there were about a dozen avowed Sanghis who should have been expelled summarily, and warnings and short bans used - uniformly, across Indian and Pakistani members - to maintain decorum. What happens today is really not worth the effort of logging in and engaging in conversation. Conversation has ceased to exist. This post of mine, for instance, is a response to your post that made reasonable reading; your earlier post was different, my response was correspondingly laconic.
As for jbgt90, I know him and his family very well, far better than I did, say, six years ago. He has his faults, and they are all uniformly on the side of promising more than he can deliver, in real life. His views and values tally with mine very closely, with regard to the threat facing the existence of India as a democratic nation; the differences are that he expects the electorate in the BIMARU states, the cow-belt, to throw out the rascals because almost everybody has seen through the lack of performance of the Sanghi ministries, and I am pessimistic; secondly, he favours the Congress, and reposes great faith in that party, perhaps due to his active work for them in the distant past, whereas I see them as part of the unholy trinity of parties I dislike, third after the Sangh Parivar, and the communists, with their doctrine of deliberate violence.
I am sure that he is good at heart, and has overcome huge personal challenges - he has not given me the license to discuss these personal matters and those details will not come out from me - to stay on the straight and narrow path of being truly secular. I seriously believe that his loyalty to democracy and to secularism is equal to mine. Take it as you wish, but that is my sincere opinion. His being banned on PDF was a deeply wounding negative act, and I deplore it.
Yeah my bad and i apologized when Tankguy pointed it out.
Nice to see you Joe, hope you are enjoying good health.
I am well, thank you very much, but still waiting anxiously for my second shot (ironically, it is the one made in India by a laboratory associated with one of my worst foes on this forum, a lunatic who has got banned - at last! - for gratuitous insult to Pakistan and Pakistanis). Life is weird. There have been so many deaths among my friends and acquaintances that I am a deeply shaken man.
About Srini (= Srinivas), I was very amused to see him chipping in, a most mortified mutter about not being IIT-ian. The reference was to the scumbag who caused all the ructions being a graduate of IIIT Hyderabad; there is nothing, AFAIK, called IIT Hyderabad.
How are you doing yourself? I am still a somewhat dormant member on a forum that has Raza Rumi and YLH - two of my favourite Pakistanis - and do get extended commentaries from very intelligent and observant people on the state of affairs there.
