What's new

Indian journalist denies that Noodle came from China

maybe off topic but i shud say this !

i dont know why but most of the pakistanis think india is anti china......dont know da reason for this but thats what is prevelant everywhr.

i shud clear 1 thing.....1 misunderstanding for the past dont overshadow millenia of mutual understanding and trust.....

and 1962 also happened coz of trust and then betrayal of trust.....

and it was from both sides.....nehru was too adamant to play dirty politics with maps creating a controversy and chinese also backstabbed behind hindi-chini bhai bhai (india china brothers) slogan !

but nowhere there was any people to people rift ever...infact chinese see india as originator of most of their cultural thingy.....(u can refer to above mentioned explanation by some of our members about what india gave china)

also indians admire chinese products and is one of the biggest import in india.

so basically, india and china share a natural bond built over 1000s of years which no offset misunderstanding can ruin......

so if u say india is anti china so it farce....yes, u can say india is critical of china.....but again thats a trait of democracy where u speak what u feel !

Thanks !

my dear, the poster was only displaying the fact why we hindustanis start claiming the stuff of other nations, like kung fu and now noodles, come on!!!!

we dont claim dear !

these are facts which actually we never cared mentioning.....coz it was never relevant....

as for noodles, i dont say it came to china from india or such....we are saying it didnt came to india from china as it was an ancient dish called idiyappam and we have reference to it for ancient times.....

so frankly u dont know what came from where......might be noodles became idiyappam in india or idiyappam became noodles.......

BUT ULTIMATELY WHO CARES !

as for kungfu, its not clear tough...there are lot of versions of stories in china itself.....kungfu is a western name, chinese call it wushu !

buddha in china is reffered as BODHI abd they say, he brought the art of kungfu with him...there is even mythological stories that buddha a.k.a bodhi was cut into 2 pieces posthumous and who ever gets those 2 pieces together will master the art of kung fu. hence kungfu came from india.

another story says it has its root to xia dynasty 4000 yrs ago..some form of wrestling called ziao di was originated !

3rd story says it was originated in shang dynasty time.....something called shoubo !

all these are ancient chinese martial arts which collectively is called kungfu....a name given by west.....

just like indian religion is called hinduism but its never used in hindu texts !

Thanks !

Noodles might have originated from China but it was also here from a very long time, especially south India. In Kannada, the rice strands(noodles) are called Shaavige and it more or less a staple food. But,origin does not matter much as long as we enjoy the food(i love chinese noodles and soup).

to follow that up, it's a famous traditional mangalorean dish called 'akki semige' (translates as rice noodles). this is a age old rice dish pressed in a unique 'semige press'. i'm not denying the fact that noodles comes from china. universally it's known as chinese dish. however i'm strugling to beleive that a place like mangalore would have had any influence from china considering where it's located in india. if it's northern or north easten part of india, then it's understandable. maybe noodles are just not unique to china.

A Final word :

Buddhism is from Nepal not India.

India give Nepal credit !!!!
