I have worked with IBM too, ex IBMer. Manyata Embassy and that is very true that no one change hardware in 3 yrs (server hardware). Companies usually go for care pack

wow, I feel I am getting short changed. But it s ok. I am having fun. Also work life is an extension of hostel life from college so far for me. only thing is the extra tours/trainings is good. I am working with ERP rollouts for some large clients. If all goes well its Europe in the summer.
I think I will spend the first 3 years learning as much as possible before trying to aim for money.
But its good to know that so many people in India earn this much. and there is no point in wanting to go overseas.
Go indian IT. BTW, I am going to graduate from Scooty to a small car soon. I am thinking of automatic i10. Anyone with any advice?

I draw 5.5 pack in first year.....worked for 3 years... but i get back to my core stream.... Completed masters.... planning for Ph.d on maglev..... so i resigned... SW...

Hey man.....you should have considered a bit before jumping right in. Personally, being a mechanical engineer, i have no clue about IT....but you should have realized that bulk of Indians lashing it out on pdf are the proverbial "IT guys". They come in many shapes and sizes.....with varying amount of experience and expertise attached to their belt.

Let me introduce myself I am an IBMer working as a UNIX SME (Subject Matter Expert)… As an Engineer having experience of 12+ years… Working on pSeries, xSeries and Solaris servers…These are called high end servers… Do u know if you have to bring one server into production, what it takes…?... What all process needs to be followed?

Kiddo , changing server in every 3 year is not a joke… You can do it with Simple boxes.

First you need to understand what is server and how it works….?... Someone says something to you and you started jumping that is not the case.

Again, son, I didn't say we are changing IBM servers, which are of a totally different class and stability. I said we are changing HP servers up to DL 580. Perhaps you need to stop thinking in terms of an IT vendor and think in terms of guys who work in IT infrastructure and who actually run a business on the performance of these servers. You vendor guys at the end of the day are just salesmen with some IT knowledge.

Why are you looking for an AT i10 when at almost same price you can get Swift LDi ..much better performance & less on daily running cost ...

i realy dont know much about cars.. i am just taking driving lessons.. i will take the car that comes in pink.
btw is maruti car in diesel or petrol? i prefer petrol as diesel is more polluting.

AT in small cars is not advisable...but then its your choice...Moreover its not that hard to drive geared car, also you must be learning driving with car with MT i believe...
