The question is , what Indian will supply from Chahbar port to Afghanistan, which Iran can not supply ?. And same to central Asia.

Not a good news for Pakistan . India played its cards superbly , not cared about the US pressure and signed port deal with Sanctioned Iran .

Its barter and Iran is party loser, because Iran is not getting hard cash for selling oil, instead they receive some high cost services from Indian from some development project.

Chabahar is a Port built over Thirty Years ago. Here is some information :

1. Chabahar port history : Shahid – Kalantary port is one of two important ports in Chabahar. The executive operation of this port was started in 1981 and it became operational with the completion of four jetties in 1983. During the war between Iran and Iraq, the Iranian government noticed the important role of the port of Chabahar in Iran’s imports and exports, because of its unique characteristics such as being out of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf. So, Shahid – Beheshti port was built and equipped as the most important port in Chabahar

For those Pakistanis who thought that India used the sanctions period to get the port. Or that India will cede space to other countries in Iran.

Iran - now on the verge of having sanctions lifted - wants even more Indian investment and involvement in Iran.

All Iran/India relationship is based on simple economics of trade. Even these will morph now because frankly the sanction regime had created a restricted trading environment for Iran under which India got undue preferance, Now that is about to change and expect in time rush of German/European and Japanes/Chinese companies move in hitherto vacant space lorded over by India.
