why blame govt and officials.. How many of Indian citizens go and watch hockey and other sports with the same passion as cricket. I live in Delhi and went for a couple of CW games events.. Most of the time the stalls were half or less than half full.

Its all about demand and supply mates..

hell man this is embarrassing, imagine if they would have diverted a monthly salary of just a single cricket player or an IPL player that would have resulted into not only shoes but whole hockey kits for the indian hockey team

Its not all about supply and demand mate, its about how your promote other sports . Look at the way cricket is being promoted in your country all the million dollars IPL and ICL but have your sports board concentrated that much ever on other sports. This is evident from the fact that football is the most popular game in the world , even when there is football world cup you will see millions of indians and Pakistanis sticking to the tv and watching that without their teams being playing but when it comes to the football match of indian team how many indians do the same? if all the games are promoted equally then there is no doubt that people will not come out in numbers to watch them

Why not blame the government?

Hockey is India's National Game, it is the responsibility of the government to facilitate the players no matter who watches (or not) it or what it costs.

It is the responsibility of the government, more than of anyone else.
