A British Officer was involved. He received the highest Pakistani Civilian award. The British assumption and desire was to give Kashmir to Pak because Pak could be used as a base in the coming cold war against the Soviets. Pak as usual jumped the gun and invaded the valley. Rest is history.

BS...no British were involved. Major Brown in 1947 assisted in a rebellion. But war of independence happened in 1948. Brown was long gone.
