West Bengal has much more potential than Bangladesh..and btw Kolkata is a gamma world city. Your dacca is not even in the list!! So go blabber sumwher else..Bd is of no importance in the World Map. 1000s die every time a storm of medium intensity pays them a visit. Wat a joke they are talking about tsunami!!

It is 818 USD without taking in to account the shadow economy which is almost 45-82% of the GDP and runs parallel with real economy and with 1995 base year. But with 2005 base year it will be more and even may cross 1200 usd. for your info India measure its gdp based on 2005 base year.
also add this one to your achieviment spectrum....BBC News | South Asia | Bangladesh floods rise againWell mr. chest thumper Dhaka being in a list is not in our priority
spectrums right now. And the last time there was a storm that hit
both BD and WB this was the news,
Storm kills 10 in India, 33 fishing boats missing

Before jumping into anything, Bangladesh has a long way to go before bench-marking the emerging economies such as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. Hell, even Vietnam. Let alone the potential future super powers, India and China.
All Bangladesh needs is good leadership that is committed to addressing the most pressing and potential issues affecting the future of it's prosperity.
