I won't be surprised if the Indian embassy jumped into action only when the invasion happened.

Actually on the second or third day of the war Prime Time with Ravish Kumar interviewed a girl and she said, and I don't remember which agency correctly, either Air India which the government sold to Tata Group or it was the Indian government itself, but one of them was asking the students to put up 60,000 rupees or more to get the students to India via air.

And then Prime Time showed a group of 18 Indian students at the Hungary border and the Hungarians were not allowing them to cross saying that the students should have been traveling in their own car which the students said they didn't have because of being not-rich students. And there was no Indian embassy officials to receive them.

And a few other Indian students had to arrange 3.5 lakh Indian rupees to pay for a bus to the Hungary or Poland border ( I don't remember which ) but even then they faced problems.

Indian government I think has said that the students have to somehow get to the borders. No brave Indian government people will rescue them from within Ukraine.

And "Operation Ganga"... The Indian government has to promote its Hindutvadi ethos even outside India.

Sorry state of affairs. I am not saying that it is easy to coordinate logistics in a conflict zone, but this war was no surprise event. Anyways, there are lot of conflicting reports coming out. Don't know whom to believe. Every side is running their own version of events.

So sad to read about the students. Killing and Kidnapping students is such a heinous act. I saw a video where soldiers are dragging female students. Why is no one talking about them? If it were US or any other European dissent would they had been treated like that? i hope all the student make it back safely.
