I think all players from subcontinent can understand english. They should start a trend of taking the questions in english and answering back in Hindi/Urdu/Bangla/sinhalese, even if they can speak good english.

In South Asia , English is not just another language . English is the class.(remember Hindi Medium Movie). It is OKay if you are Spanish ,Russian etc and can not speak fluent English. If you are Indian and can not speak English fluently ,you are deemed as illiterate and an object of pity and ridicule .

Still cant believe ICC or the host nations dont offer translators for players who cant speak English! I mean look at football. The vast majority of Spanish, Brazilian, Italian etc players do not know English or French. Are they shy speaking their own languages? no of course. Cricket really needs to move on from its imperial British past.

Cannot agree more.

The players need to play their part to, just go out there and speak your national language guys, NO SHAME IN SPEAKING Urdu or Hindi or whatever language comes naturally to you. Once the players start doing it, eventually the broadcasters will provide translators or we will get some solution for the world audience. The player must be given confidence by their management to speak in their own language.
