yeah right supercomputers china is ***** in supercomputing until after 2007 govt decided to invest billions in the field immediately china assembled supercomputers. the achievement of computer made by indegeneous chips is good but nothing revolutionary. india govt recently boosted the field by 2 billion dollars and asked scientists to build 100 supercomputers all over the country. first one is coming out this year 1.5 petaflops. indegeneous chips is no problems as all the intel and amd chipa are now designed in bangalore.

This person has made the claims about "incremental improvements" which are actually true for the Chinese.

Perhaps wiping the Iphone and IPad glass screens with those toxic chemicals in the dead of the night and making those happy meal toys give them ideas as if they actually were the innovators!

Even here, he couldn't dare to imagine, just rehashed what I had mentioned months back doing copy and replace (something they are good at and that doesn't need imagination ).

All those big claims, not a single real innovation for thousands of years!

He is trying to hide his shame that China has made no real contribution to any innovation for thousands of years.

They have made some incremental improvements over existing (and mostly stolen) technology, nothing more.

Not a single innovation that we use in our day to day live from the last several decades can be traced to China except cheap manufacturing using Western decades old technology.

PS: I realize that it may be the toxic fumes from wiping that IPhone glass screen that may have had the effect.

China workers poisoned at iPhone factory: company

More than 130 workers at a Chinese factory making touch screens for Apple iPhones were poisoned by a toxic chemical in 2009, the Taiwanese company said Thursday.

Neutrino oscillations, to be honest, I don't understand. Quantum field theory isn't my thing. Neither you nor I are in a position to say what's all the rage in physics. Physics isn't a popularity contest. High Tc superconductors were hot 10 years ago and people predicted an explosion in applications; didn't happen. As for the neutrino oscillations, its your scientists that are making a big deal out of it.

I listened to this while driving to church today and I was simply astounded by what I was hearing. The Wall Street people talk of how India will overtake China in 20 years, and they do it because of gifted Indian people coming up with most creative solutions to solve the most difficult problems. You simply don't see this kind of creativity in China and this is why China cannot really compete against India in the long run, because India has what it takes to advance into the developed world, while China doesn't.

The reason is, China just doesn't have this kind of problem with millions of children starving to death each year. You don't search for a solution for a non-existing problems. China on the other hand has lifted more people out of poverty than anyone in the world and in history. That indeed needs incredible creativity and smartness.

Good on Indians to solve hunger problem for children at school. These are things people should be talking about instead of the pissing contest about next and best in WMD technology. If we did not have to fight with each other and threaten each other for solving our resource sharing or territorial problems, we could be developing our population at least 2-3 times faster.
