Indian election results

why is that?

NDA: 347
UPA: 94

Karnataka is already on shaky grounds. Existing govt. was formed only to keep out the BJP which was the largest party. Now with this defeat, there is a clear lack of moral grounds to keep BJP out of power in the state.

BJP in MP had a majority vote share, but less seats. Now a few Congress MLA"s might jump ship giving BJP a majority.

Maybe this time they can pass CAB.

How ? They still don't have majority in Rajya sabha.

But yes, I do have hopes.

I truly wish that Dr. Bawa would log in so that I could just rub this Modi victory in his Face :D

Bawa, if you are reading this, "Ha HA"

Citizenship Amendment Bill, big issue over here upon which hinges BJP's chances in the next assembly elections.
----------------+++-----------

Nice watching Arnab Goswami speak in Assamese on Republic TV with Tarun Gogoi, former Congress CM of Assam, Mr Gogoi was saying that Modi would behave like a dictator after the landslide victory to which Arnab pointed out that he respects him a lot and won't debate with him like other guests! :-)

Arnab's still an Assamese in heart and spirit..

Well, in the present form it would be difficult for BJP to get it enacted after the support from Assam and NE India. May be with modifications, but that's a debate for another day. Let us, for now, celebrate BJP's victory.

It was not the question of majority in the upper house, entire NE would have risen up against BJP had they gone ahead. Better sense prevailed.

Arnab Goswami’s family is from bharalumukh Ghy. His grandfather was a congress leader I think, and Tarun Gogoi dangoriya is a congress veteran, they know each other personally.

West Bengal meet your new MPs, Mimi and Nusrat:lol::lol::lol:

Nope, his entire family was linked to the Jan Sangh first and then the BJP. I used to love reading the editorials written by his father Col(retd.) Manoranjan Goswami in the Assam Tribune and The Sentinel, sadly he passed away late last year.

They did rise up as one against the BJP, but can you tell me why ?

This is very much true, their families had close relations even before Arnab was catapulted onto the national stage. Hence the respect!

Yes, to tell you in brief the BJP wanted to provide citizenship to the persecuted foreign nationals from minority religions in India. But we in NE are of the belief that foreigners mustn't be segregated by religion and that the illegal BDs here be deported back to their country IRRESPECTIVE of their religion.

But forget foreigners, even Indian citizens cannot settle in the N.E due to restrictive laws (as as kashmir), so what is the point of the protest ?

Not all the states in NE India have provision of ILP, only three have them. Anyone from India is welcomed in the NE, you are our brothers. But we take exception to the BD nationals leeching off our resources.
