India vs England: Indian cricket team trolled after being served beef at Lord's on Day 3
Updated Aug 12, 2018 | 09:01 IST | Times Now Digital
As if having a disappointing outing on Day 3 at Lord's wasn't enough, the Indian cricket team was trolled on social media after an image of their lunch menu featuring a beef dish was posted on Twitter.

The Indian cricket team had a disappointing outing on the third day of the ongoing Test against England on Saturday as they were run ragged by the hosts despite a strong showing in the first session. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the Indian bowlers before lunch as the visitors, defending a small total of 107 in the first innings, picked up four of England's top-order batsmen and had slim hopes of staying alive in the contest.
As the teams headed into the lunch break, a tweet from the official account of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) caused a stir on social media. The BCCI had posted an image of the lunch menu on offer on Day 3, which featured a dish called 'braised beef pasta' and many users found an issue with the serving of beef to the Indian players.

It is to be noted that the menu was common for both teams and it was up to the individual choice of the players to decide what they want to have. Here are some of the tweets by users who voiced their concerns over the Indian team being served beef.

After lunch though, it was smooth sailing for England as India managed to take just a wicket apiece in the second and third sessions. Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes combined to register a mammoth 189-run partnership for the sixth wicket, with the keeper-batsman losing his wicket after scoring a hard-fought 93.
Woakes, on the other hand, remained unbeaten at 120 at the end of the third day's play and put the English players to the sword with a brilliant display of batting. The hosts' lead stands at exactly 250 runs and one can expect them to declare quickly and come out all guns blazing with the ball on Sunday, with the conditions expected to favour swing bowling.
