There is some debate on whether the paintings depict the actual attire of people during that era. In ancient times temples were commissioned by kings and were instructed to be liberal with the sculptures. These were as much artistic endeavours as they were places of worship. Roman and Greek sculptures also depict nudity, masculine female bodies and small genitals on men. These were deliberate and probably the dominant theme of that time.

Whenever there was conservative outcry against nudity / sex in Bollywood movies, the liberals came up with the same trope of 'India is the land of Kamasutra' etc and that Indians were more liberals in ancient times etc. I found that to be BS. I don't think Indians were more sexually promiscuous or liberal in ancient times. Indulgence of kings cannot be taken to be the measure of how common people lived.

The proof of Indian superiority, allowing Western corporates like Mickey D's to come in and destroy your local dining out industry.

As if local businesses in Bangladesh can't buy restaurant catering equipment and make their operations as hygienic (or more) other than to have Mickey D's do it.

Bangladeshi local burger joints (especially in Dhaka) serve far better US restaurant-quality (not fast food) gourmet burgers than Mickey D's does.
