BELAGAVI: Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said today that both Indian and Chinese troops were present in Doklam, but were not in an "eyeball-to-eyeball" contact.

General Rawat said there had been a disengagement of troops of both countries in Doklam, where the two sides were locked in a stand-off that ended in August. "There has been a disengagement on the condition that we will both disengage so that there is no face-to-face contact. So, that disengagement has taken place," he said.

"The PLA (People's Liberation Army) is still at Doklam, but they are at a reasonable distance from us and we are not in eyeball-to-eyeball contact," the Army chief said.

He was speaking to reporters after honouring 23rd and 24th battalions of the Maratha Light Infantry at a glittering ceremony here today.

There was a military stand-off between India and China at Doklam on the tri-junction of the Indian, Chinese and Bhutanese borders but it had ended after 71 days in August.

On Jammu and Kashmir, he said there has been no violation of human rights in that state by the Army but it has taken stringent action whenever such incidents occurred.

The Army chief said no one would be spared in case of violation of human rights.

Asked about reports about rise in recruitments of Kashmiri youths by terrorist groups since 2013 and resentment against the Army, he said some youths are carried away by wrong conceptions due to social media.

Straight out of the General's mouth. But didn't the Chinese withdrew due to the supa powa army of India?

Which part of Doklam are you in General? Is it Doka La?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

The Chinese, to be precise, the PLA withdrew because there are no numskull fanboys among them; they are a disciplined force, led by rational commanders, executing both strategies and tactics discussed internally in detail before implementation (unless they have changed radically since 1962). They withdrew because that was the conclusion of their talks with the Indian side. They talked to the Indian side because of the difficulties faced in confronting the Indian Army. So in a very real sense, they withdrew due to the supa powa Indian Army. And they left their fanboys rolling on the floor laughing. By the time the poor fanboys had got hold of the party line, everything was over - save for the strewing of every inane post with multiple copies of the ROTFL emoji.

Erm, when did we withdrew bhai? Both armies moving back 150 meters to form a buffer zone meant we withdrew now? Which part of THE CHINESE ARE STILL DOKLAM do you not understand?:rofl::rofl:

Remember what Indian members said?
1) China withdrew from Doklam and India won.
2) I specifically said that the cryptic term 'disengagement' did not mean withdrawal and yet the Indians were jumping on me. The Chinese MOFA on the other hand specifically said India WITHDREW back to their side of the border and Chinese soldiers remain there to guard our sovereignty.
:china:

Btw, the general responsible for this got promoted while Arun Jaitley got demoted.

Someone needs to ask him about the Indian official narrative about the Indian army incursion into Doklam as per the bilateral agreement between India and Bhutan to protect Bhutanese territory. Since Indian army has moved out, is that agreement between Bhutan and India invalid now since PLA is still present on the "Bhutanese territory"?

No, I don't.
And every time I read your posts, I am so glad that people like you are not in any way representative of any responsible section of Chinese opinion.
There is a Chinese member who is a twit (unlike you). This twit said something about the number of crashes of Indian planes. When asked about the numbers of crashes of planes by the PLAAF, he went into twelve pages of how much had been sold to other nations, successful re-developments, types of re-development - everything other than what was asked.
Now, you want to know why I claim that the PLA withdrew NOW.
Short answer: I didn't.
Go check. And then get back to the point; the Chinese withdrew.
Not from the Mars base. Not from the Lunar base. Not from Beijing. But from the positions that they had occupied further.

Someone needs to inform you that they were building roads on a piece of territory that pointed straight at Bhutanese Indian territory, but that the road-building was on Chinese territory disputed between Bhutan and China. The Indian Army went in to interrupt the road-building; that confrontation led to a situation which ended with mutual talks, and with the withdrawal of both sets of troops, and the cessation of road-building. The Indian Army has, and had, no intention of staying in occupation of Chinese territory, no matter how small.

Someone needs to suggest to you that you do your homework before you spring to the defence of the 'iron partner'. It shows great loyalty, but very little relevance.

Don't try to be a smart arse with me sunshine, you should have known by now.

My question is simple. Are the Chinese, as we speak, not present on the so called "Bhutanese territory" which you lot went into protect?

It is so tempting.

Your answer was in the post that you rose to, so beautifully, but without reading it.

Now read it, genius.

They won't admit we are still there. Since day one these geniuses thought 'disengagement' meant withdrawal. I specifically told them, the MEA is trying to conceal something with this lingo play. They didn't believe me. Chinese MOFA was very straight forward and told the whole outcome as it is. India withdrew back to their borders, in return China will postpone road construction while occupying Doklam. The Chinese demand since day 1 was for Indian withdrawal before anything can happen. India did precisely as told, they withdrew and waited for Chinese goodwill to 'disengage' and postpone road construction. See, the supa powa blinked when they reduced their troops to 40 ppl in September as a sign they want to give in. Remember how they bragged Doval will 'force' the Chinese to give in? Doval went to Beijing to offer a concession, China did not agree on anything until they withdrew, that's the reason India needed to withdraw first and then reconfirmed China would agree to their terms of a 150m buffer zone and postponement. There never was an agreement, it was them giving suggestions and waiting for the goodwill to happen when they withdrew. These Indians didn't believe me when I said China will abide by what they announce, if they say no negotiations before withdrawal, they meant it.

Now with the Indian economy is shit mode, Modi cannot afford a confrontation with China.

Where are the Indians? So quiet.

First, thanks for your silence inability of the Indian Air Force.
As always, Indians do not have much thinking skills. I have a list of China's accident gave you. But you seem addicted to your own world —— Indian weapon stocks only 10 days, but China does not have a similar report, so China is even worse.

You think I can not provide a list of China accidents (this is the only thing you can talk about). But the fact is that I provided a complete list.

So I say - Pakistan can make JF-17, Saudi Arabia can make Chinese drone, Turkey can copy China's WS-1 and WS-2. India???

The Indians are silent because they are laughing at you - the fanboys, not the government of the PRC, that has shown maturity and responsibility. It is only the riffraff of the Internet that are still trying to tease a victory out of dubious interpretations of words.

The facts are very simple. A road was sought to be built, pointing straight at a disputed piece of land. At the end, a short amount of work on undefended territory would have brought the road into that territory. For this reason, at the request of the Government of Bhutan, Indian troops located themselves at the road-building site, and blocked the building of the road. After some tension, a discussion ensued, and the Indian troops withdrew to the Bhutanese side of the Sino-Bhutanese border, while the Chinese troops and road-building staff withdrew to their original positions and stopped the road building. And that is what is the position at the border.

These Indians, those Indians and the rest of the world really don't believe deranged fanboy interpretations of something that has been confirmed by even the Chinese side, and really have no time for it. This is beginning to resemble @Two's epic resistance of the basic point that he could not respond to. And that excruciating marathon is too boring for words.

@Two

You did not provide a list at all, leave alone a complete list. You provided an opinion. Nobody has time to spend on you any more.

 But it seems you have finally broken the silence? That's why it's important Indians show maturity by withdrawing and allowing us to occupy Doklam. I respect India for that, when we ask you to withdraw, you withdraw without any excuse nor agreement.

The facts are very simple. A road was sought to be built, pointing straight at a disputed piece of land. At the end, a short amount of work on undefended territory would have brought the road into that territory. And that is what is the position at the border.

Can I ask you a simple question, why is India worried about roads in Doklam in the first place? They are worried of roads because it is an instrument of occupation. So what just happened in Doklam? We occupied it. So instead of taking care of the fire, you are happy if there are no matches around.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Did we agree to stop road construction? I don't recall anything from MEA though. You hope we will stop, you suggested to us to stop, you withdrew without a single agreement and hope the Chinese will reciprocate. We did actually, we postponed the road construction, built bunkers to fortify our positions in Doklam and maintain a 150m buffer to reduce tension. That was the meaning of 'disengagement'. Remember what you Indian fanboys said? CHINA WITHDREW, INDIA WON.

NO ROADS? THE WHOLE DOKLAM PLATEAU ROAD NETWORK IS ALREADY COMPLETE.:china:
