Indian bureaucracy an obstacle to defence relationship, says US report

Bill Clinton made the first substantial move back in 1996-1997. Even then it wasn't moving anywhere due to the nuke blasts. NSA woke up to the reality that China was prepping Pakistan to have an advantage over anything we India did. That is a fact. Of course, nobody wants to jump the gun so India opened more dialogue with the US but kept a close eye on Chinese-Pak relations. This is stuff that is not spoken openly. The Chinese counted on India's NAM to undermine it. It felt it would never open up to the West and was counting on it.

I didn't remember exactly but Mr. Clinton himself had said that few things in DC don't want India and states in same camp.

Someone should point out ??? . What ??? You have pointed out nothing. Did you read my first statement ??? You are thinking only in current perspectives. I write I had same opinion about US burocrates few years ago. And nobody is blindly following anything. USA isn't anybody's friend except its interests. India should get as much as it can before their point of interests change. I agree that

Now do you really want me to post the things done by US bureaucracy that didn't allow India to trust US ???
And why are you dragging the plane argument. Point out where I am wrong and NOT the theory that how should India get its benefits. I made a simple statement I stand correct there. Prove me wrong by giving any example that US bureaucracy had helped to improve defence relation with India in past. situation is changing though so you would find some in next few years


As I said earlier go ahead point out something I don't know.

Out of context but a worthy mention:
India has maintained a good depolmatic relation with many countries which are enemy of each other. USA has yet to achieve that. So I guess Indian burocrate +1 here even though I know they suck in many domestic issues

Like I said....you come to the US India relationship with old baggage and an old mentality. You cant move forward if still hold on the past forever. You will move at a snails pace. Look at how Pakistan has embraced China? Im not saying to do the same but open your damn eyes. Common man? You? And you have no issues with local govt in INdia? If you say NO then I know yoyu are full of **** or you lack exposure to the world. What do you expect the US to give all tech for free and without any strings attached? Even Russia wont do that. You think India is so smart and has great relations with everyone but nobody is blind to whats going on. They see it. It shows India cannot stick to a decision, it cant even make one. So how can India expect to be a super duper power if it cannot make a point and stick to it. At the end of the day, A nation is judged by the allies it has. And India needs to build a solid alliance. YOu point out you had the same opinion of US bureaucrats.....come on guy....there is no comparison. Stop bullshitting yourself. Please make a few points why US bureaucracy is a stumbling block to INdia defenc relationship? I seriously want to know. Make sure all relevant points are post 2000 thank you!

As I said please spare me the theory of which is better and how India is worse.

- OLD baggage and old mentality - these things always define your past and help predict how will you behave in future. Give me one reason why US will not behave the same way it behave in past ??? Look at Pakistan and just compare the relation from 1990-2010. It's not a big time when we consider international relations.

- who told you US way is forward ??? India needs US for many things so does US. It's better for India to be on neutral terms with China than to ally with US. Like said before US is only friends to its interests. No more no less

- Pak embarrass China ??? USA embarrass Pak

- I do have problems with local govt. but does that mean I should support forgine govt. sorry I am not communist.

- please tell me one Russian tech with strings attached to USE. And make sure you know about strings attached to IN's "JALASWA"

- if you want say co-existance with all parties is failing to make a decision. I have no explanation for that. India is doing great on forgine policy fornt. We do have great relations with Iran-Israel, US-Russia and all other conflicting parties. You agree or not That's a great achievement.

-India don't need to build a allience. India preffer multipolar world and your concept is Bipolar world with one stronger pole. Sorry nobody in India ink that way

- in 2011/12 India is denied the access to technology of "Javelin Missile" under the reason of possibility of the theft of tech. There is a whole thread on PDF with links. Help yourself. Pentagon was ready but DOD scrap it.
- India requested Supercomputer to Mr. Bush in 2001/02. I hope you know what happen
- India buy 'Jalashawa" from US. Do you know the it has a clause of yearly examination ???

I hope it's more than enough to support my statement.

I am not against India-US cooperation given that it's both sided. I surely don't trust US.

Trust is built and doesn;t come overnight. But Im glad you brought it to my attention coz hopefully folks in America will get the hint.
