Indian Bollywood mocks Tamil struggle in "Madras Cafe". Chola Revival!

Some lesson on history - both Pakistan and tiny *** Singapore broke away to be independent from India/Malaysia , so why can Tamilnadu ?

Tamils need a push from Pakistan and all other countries to break their mental chain - 50 odd yrs of conditioning and sweet talk by Indians ..

Tamils behave like baby elephant tied by a chain, that it cant break to be free. It gives up any attempt to break even after growing up and having the might.
You don't even live in India. :laughcry: And you also don't speak for all Tamils.

He is a Pakistani his views are fully bigotted against Hindus and Buddhists.

Well we have our share of Hinduism hating Hindus (even in this forum), so its not so difficult for a Tamil born and bought up in another country be so vile against his ancestor's religion.

He talks exact copycat of words what a normal Pakistan grows up with.

Exactly, something is very weird. Most Indians in Malaysia are very patriotic.

A quick question, patriotic to Malaysia or India? If their loyalty is to India then as Malaysian citizens, would that not make them disloyal?

They are loyal to the country where they live, they just respect their Indian roots.

He doesn't sound as "Singapore" standard, I think he may born in somewhere else before he become "Singaporean". He is more like a Tamil who lost his identity! XD

He used a derogatory racial term on me the other day.. Which gave away his true background.. You need to be from a specific place to know that word

Petition seeking to ban screening of 'Madras Cafe' filed in High Court

Chennai: A petition seeking to ban the release of Bollywood movie "Madras Cafe" was filed in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court in Chennai on Wednesday.

The petitioner Ezhilarasu, an advocate, claimed the movie was a political thriller set in the backdrop of the assassination of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

According to the petitioner the film, which is set to be released worldwide on August 23, "is financed by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksha so as to enable the Sri Lankan government earn good name ahead of the Common Wealth Conference in the island nation in November."

He said the Sri Lankan Government financed the film in order to "hide the human rights violation and to justify the killings of Tamils by the country's military."

The petitioner alleged that the "film's depiction of rebels in the Sri Lankan civil war raised concerns among India's large Tamil population. Further the movie portrayed the LTTE cadres as terrorist."
"If the film is permitted to release in the present form, it may cause law and order problem in Tamil Nadu and it would affect the sentiments of the Tamil people," the petitioner alleged.
The petitioner sought to re-censor the film by the Central and Tamil Nadu Governments.

The petition is likely to be heard soon.

Tamil groups plan to oppose release of Madras Cafe

The names are different. Prabhakaran is Bhaskaran (played by Ajay Ratnam) in the film. Rajiv Gandhi is referred to as the young former prime minister. And the LTTE is LTF. Though the producers of Madras Cafe have insisted the film has nothing to do with the Tamil Tigers, the connections are unmistakable. Six months after some Muslim groups protested against the release of Kamal Hassan’s Viswaroopam, members of some Tamil nationalist organisations – who watched a special screening here on Sunday – are gearing up to challenge the release of the film, dubbed in Tamil.

“I am not against freedom of expression. But that freedom is selectively used to denigrate Tamils and their struggle for independence,” said Seeman, leader of Naam Tamizhar party.

Seeman says in the past films such as “Kaatrukenna Veli” and “Aaniver,” espousing the Tamil cause, were not granted permission by the Censor Board.

Narrated by Vikram Singh (John Abraham), who plays an officer of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the film is a fictionalised – and selective – rendering of events suggesting that Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated since he was keen on restoring peace in Sri Lanka and he wanted India to be economically empowered – international financiers are shown not taking kindly to that. Madras Cafe – the fictional London restaurant where the conspiracy was supposedly hatched – says the financiers assigned the LTF with the task. And Bhaskaran (Prabakharan) ordered and executed the assassination.

The Jain Commission, which was ordered to probe the conspiracy angles of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, affirmed Prabhakaran’s role but also suggested that there may be an international conspiracy that needed to be investigated.

Madras Café, made as a political thriller, portrays the countdown leading up to the assassination by a group of indoctrinated LTF cadres, the internecine rivalry among Tamil militant groups and the successful emergence of the LTTE as a formidable force.

The film meticulously portrays the prep work that went into the assassination.

You can do nothing but laugh at these antics.... Silly Madrasis have their heads so far up their arses with their self proclaimed glory, They think the whole world is against them but the fact is nobody gives a shyt, Not Lanka, not India certainly not the world

So all these hullabaloo because an Indian film depicts a true story about a foreign terrorist group that's is actually proscribed in India and that blew their PM to bits along with 1300 Soldiers that were massacred is offensive in TN ???.. Hilarious

Actually machan this is a strategy by them.
They get to know a movie is being released that is connected to SL war. Any fool can understand that you cant make a movie on SL war without mentioning LTTE. So this is a precautionary step taken to remove any thing critical abt LTTE from the film.

Also it acts as a warning to the director of the film that if movie has such material that must be deleted.
