As far as they are concerned these surgical strikes have served their purpose and I'm not sure how much weight they will place in actually "fixing" the Kashmir problem.
Contrary to all the talk that happens, there is very little that can be done to fixing the problem. There can be no grand plan, no magic wand. This is just a long, slow grind, one that will take years, maybe even decades. There will always be a segment that is driven by an ideology that will not allow for compromises, the bulk will latch on what they see as side in ascendance. It's why you saw at the height of the agitation, large crowd numbers, it's also why you slowly see it petering off when reality seeps in. People have to eat, at some point they will be tired out. You can start to see it happen. A veneer of normalcy will return, for now. It's a long hard grind, those who talk of some grand gesture are merely deluding themselves. there may be a time for that but this isn't it, that will come after the troublemakers have been dealt with. Much after.
