What's new

Indian army opens fire at PPP rally in AJK, five injured

Jana is there any other source , even pakistani other than this ?

.
Thats what I am asking,,,how is the political party of one sovereign country allowed to be operated in another "free" country ?

It is called People's party in Azad Kashmir. same is Muslim League.

Any country can adopt these names for local political parties.

and OH BTW Since Azad Kashmir has free communication with us so our parties can join our Kashmiri Brothers in protest against Indian occupation.

These rallies are approved by Govt of Azad Kashmir

.
Yeah the rally was near the LoC and the fire came from across the LoC sooooooooo what is so difficult to understand that it was coming from Indian army and not aliens :lazy:

What were they doing so close to the border ?? small arms fire has a range of 1000-1500 meter..did they wanted show their antics to BSF soldiers manning the border posts

Besides firing from Pakistani side has been continuing for last few days..in which one Indian soldier was killed couple of days ago..Only someone very dumb will approach the border to hold protest ..especially when the conditions are so tense on the border!!

Daily Times has more tilting towards India as well as Salman Taseer the owner of DT hence i feel they dont exaggerate such things where India is involved.

Anyway LoC violations are not new

But the Opening Post says its the Pakistan Peoples Party, AJK Chapter.

So is the source wrong or is it an astounding coincidence that there are two PPP in both Pakistan and "Azad" Kashmir. ?

to be expected from the hated adversary.

:agree: the PP or P there only have Kashmiris as their candidates and leaders. They contest for their assembly of Azad Kashmir .

Similar is case with Muslim League. Though they drive their popularity from PPP/PML names

By the same token, what are the occupational forces doing in Kashmir? At least these activists weren't spilling the blood of protesters - speaking of which, there weren't any! ;)

My dear Jana if this is a paper which leans towards India i hate to read ones who are against it , any way does it not seem suprising how no other paper reported it ? only a paper which LEANS TOWARDS INDIA....:azn:

. .
Where they scared that we will get united and build a army against them??:lol:

They are all mad!
Killing innocent people for WHAT?
NOTHING!

Who calles them army?
it would be safe to call them monsters in IA uniform!

That's because civilians are not allowed beyond a certain limit near LOC and military takes control on BOTH the sides. Since you said that the firing was opened by Indian Army, this means that clearly small arms were used. An average INSAS assault rifle's range is similar to AK-74U and M-4 meaning at an engaging distance of 900-1400 feet.

Considering the border limitations, NONE of the civilians are supposed to be this close to the bordering areas on BOTH sides; meaning that either your military didn't follow the orders and keep your civilians at bay or that this "rally" was not civilian entirely but separatists' cover to send in militants in the form of a "political rally".

What was Pakistani army or Rangers doing at that time? Why keep your civilians so close to the border when military distrust is present? 1400 feet to LOC is damn close and that's not really a good enough story by your media people.

Since you're a reporter, do tell your correspondent friends to come up with a more researched story of military technicalities before inventing such nonsense.
If the IA opened fire, what were your civilians doing in military designated areas of your own territory? It means either the troops didn't consider their safety or they just didn't listen to you soldiers which is impossible.

Can't you come up with a better made-up story that can at least resemble truth with some technicalities that show reason? really!

@ Jana:

One more thing; it is not the Army that patrols the borders on our side in peace times, it is the Border Security Force; your counterpart of rangers. As I said, the article lacks information that is very basic and rest of it is a big dramatic storyline.

.
It was peaceful rally on the occasion of black day observed by Kashmiris against Indian occupation.

Obviously rangers were informed about it.

What Rangers? There are no Rangers in the Poonch district. The LC is held by the regular Army on both sides. Trans LC firing is a regular feature here. Numerous Indians including civilians and porters have been killed by Pak Army in trans LC firing. There is no question of civilians congregating so close to the LC that too within small arms range!!! How did the Pak Army permit such a congregation? Did they want these guys to be hit? No civilian activity is permitted close to the LC on either side of the LC. Not even construction work or farming. Even new defense construction like new bunkers etc are not permitted and are heavily opposed by small arms fire. In this scenario, how does a large group get this close to the LC? The INSAS has an effective range of 300 meters like any other assault rifle. It would appear that this group was not only permitted but encouraged to get close to the LC to gauge the Indian reaction.

Sorry Jana...But the official website of PPP says differently.

Pakistan Peoples Party

Im asking the question again - what is the political party of Pakistan doing in another country - "A"JK ??

Please dont tell they are different. It is clear that it is a part of PPP headed by Zardari.

By the same token, what are the occupational forces doing in Kashmir? At least these activists weren't spilling the blood of protesters - speaking of which, there weren't any! ;)

So at last you agree,AJK is also occupied by Pakistan on par what India is doing in J&K ?
