Indian Army Major-General Runs Terrorist Camps Inside Afghanistan

The so called ‘Taliban’ are not the people whom we trained. They are people from Northern alliance who were your supporters. Control your language and get your facts right.

Really....:woot:

Then could you explain this:

There are serious differences emerging between the US and the various power centres in Pakistan which could adversely affect the entire region.
At stake are the upcoming Afghan elections, the US offensive in Helmand province in Afghanistan, curbing the Taliban in Pakistan and a potential worsening in Islamabad's relations with both Kabul and Delhi.
The differences emerge as the US, Britain, France and Nato stake an enormous amount of political prestige on rapidly improving the security situation in Afghanistan and receiving more co-operation from Pakistan on combating the Taliban in both countries.
When Pakistani and Indian leaders met in Egypt on 16 July, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani handed over an intelligence dossier to his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh outlining India's alleged role in destabilising Pakistan from Afghanistan.
This included funding and training Baloch militants for the separatist insurgency in Balochistan province and providing support for the Pakistani Taliban, in particular its leader Baitullah Mehsud.
The Pakistani dossier was almost certainly a retaliatory move following US and Nato allegations that Pakistan's military continues to provide sanctuary to the top leadership of the Afghan Taliban including Mullah Mohammed Omar.

Mr Gilani [L] handed over a dossier to Mr Singh
Adm Michael Mullen, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on 23 July that al-Qaeda's leadership is also in Pakistan.
Meanwhile India accuses Pakistan of continuing to harbour extremist groups in Punjab province including Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is accused of carrying out the Mumbai attacks of last year.
The dossier has worsened the long running tit-for-tat accusations between India and Pakistan and expanded their differences to now involve the US and Nato. That in turn puts at risk the entire security of the region.
The dossier is also a sign of the growing ascendancy of the military in Pakistan over the civilian government in the making of foreign and national security policy.

Military's view

In the past President Asif Ali Zardari has taken a pragmatic, conciliatory line towards both India and Afghanistan saying Pakistan has no enmity with them. He has also pledged to clamp down on all "terrorists" regardless of their origins.
However now the government appears to be quietly going along with the military's view of the region.
Western diplomats say that the Pakistani dossier was followed up by a series of hard-hitting briefings by the military and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for selected foreign journalists and diplomats, blaming the Americans for refusing to curtail the so-called Indian subversion of Pakistan through Afghanistan.
The ISI also denied there were Afghan Taliban on Pakistani soil and instead accused the joint US-British offensive in Helmand province of worsening the security situation for Pakistan because fleeing Taliban will escape into Balochistan.
Western diplomats have responded by reminding the Pakistanis that ever since their defeat in Afghanistan in 2001, the Taliban have been given sanctuary in Balochistan.

The military is also insisting that the US stop bombing Pakistan's tribal areas with drone-fired missiles and instead share the technology and intelligence with Pakistan.
The military has become even more incensed after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed supplies of nuclear reactors and new fighter jets to India during her trip there in late July.
These tensions could have the most impact in Afghanistan where presidential elections take place on 20 August with no sign of a Taliban let-up in their bid to disrupt the polls.
The US offensive in Helmand province is meeting stiff resistance and if the fighting continues there is little chance of the Afghan public coming out in large numbers to vote in the southern provinces.
A high number of US and British soldiers have been killed in the first three weeks of July.

Uncertain

In 2004 before the first presidential elections, former President George W Bush successfully exerted pressure on President Pervez Musharraf and the ISI to reign in the Taliban for two months so that elections could take place peacefully.

US attempts to register a similar deal now have been denied by Pakistan, who insist that there are no Afghan Taliban in Pakistan.
It is also uncertain if the Pakistanis have the same kind of influence with the Taliban as they did in 2004.

Meanwhile India has made it clear to the US that it will not resume normal relations with Islamabad until there is a clamp down against Lashkar-e-Taiba and other Punjab-based militant groups.
Only the civilian government is in favour of such a clamp-down.
Meanwhile after driving the Pakistani Taliban out of the Swat valley but failing to kill any of the Taliban commanders, the army is under pressure from the government, the public and the US to go after the Taliban leadership in the tribal areas.
So far it has declined, citing tensions with India and the need to keep the bulk of its army on the Indian border.
Western diplomats say Pakistan is choosing to fight only those Taliban who threaten the government, but refusing to act against those groups who are fighting in Afghanistan.
The rising differences between the US, Europe and India on one side and Pakistan on the other is cause for growing concern as Islamic extremism shows no signs of abating in the region.

India is NAKED in Afghanistan! If history is any judge; Hindu's and Sikhs have always been a minority there. And if some Indian self-delusional bloke in this forum believes that the large number of Indian Consulates in Afghanistan are to help the Afghans re-build; then by that logic US should have at least a 100 and UK at least 50 consulates in Afghanistan. Yep! Afghanistan top export (heroine) seems to be doing well with a few Indians here who seem to be high on their own sheer stupidity!

India has a WET DREAM to surround Pakistan and to have a large presence in Afghanistan to support any future military actions. Let the US and UK leave and then we will see exactly which hole in Tora Bora will these lala's hide into!

India don't need to dream to surround Pakistan. There are lot of conflicts going on in the Pakistan and it would be better for the future of Pakistan to stop those conflicts rather then fighting on the forum. For you sake, India has Airbase in the Tajikistan (nearby Pak) to increase the strength for second strike.

There are lot of conflicts within India too! And thanks for indicating your ''petty'' presence in Tajikistan as being a second strike capability base. Let me know the day when you actually have nukes on that base with the permission from the Tajiks. Until that happens; all you will do at that base is to practice pissing in the wind!

Eight foreign intelligence agencies are meddling in Pakistani Balochistan. There is a 9th possible player: Oman, where US and UK and reportedly Israel maintain ‘listening and monitoring outposts’. But it is the wily Indians who walk away with the top prize. For seven years now, India has played the lead role in spreading terror inside Pakistani Balochistan. India’s reckless adventurism has emboldened other players. But it is also emboldening Pakistan to respond. India cannot get away with this and stealing Pakistan’s water in Kashmir.

The news item has been picked from a website maintained by Mr. Ahmed Quraisi. A self certified analyst and strategic studies expert. His views, might be based on facts and information that he might have access to. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to information, which is not in public domain. The details and conspiracies mentioned in this post, I doubt can be verified, by a common man of the street. But, going through the post, some of the details provided sounder incredible if not fantastic.

One thing that comes to my mind is the saying – The bigger the lie, the easier it is to sell. That apart, another point, that that I would like the members of this forum to appreciate is that, till one knows that he is peddling “manufactured truths” for others to consume. It is ok. But, the day he himself starts believing in the “manufactured truth” that he himself manufactured, it a big trouble for him, the society where he peddled his stuff and the world as whole.

I have no doubts that all major countries will have their intelligence staff in Afghanistan. India and Israel might have the motives to influence activities in Baluchistan. But, if Pakistanis themselves starts believing that Baluchi insurgency is being foot soldiered by Indian and Israelis, it seems far fetched and may not be in line with facts. If not carefull, you will end up treating your own citizens as enemies, and result in extreme alienation of the Baluchis in the long term. And, actually, loose Baluchistan.

Another idea that comes across repetitively in the discussions of this thread is, India circling Pakistan, with a military presence. Now, you tell me, Afghanistan is land-locked and how would India handle the logistics of maintaining an army in Afghanistan??

Another commentator mentioned here that “the Taliban fighting the Pakistani Army is not the Taliban Pakistan has trained” Then who are these Taliban? The logistics of maintaining Taliban fighters would mirror that of an army. Who / which country can have access to Pakistan through Afghanistan and also maintain logistics, unless, it is same as the Nato logistics, through Pakistan. There can not be good or bad Taliban.

Pakistan has allowed its’ polity to be wooed away from Sufi Islam to Wahibi Islam. And Taliban is the bi-product of the same. In my opinion, the Saudi oil money is the biggest curse to this Islamic republic, today. Rather than taking to task, the people responsible for midwifing Taliban in the first place, and destroying the Taliban from it’s root, I see the idea of managing the Taliban, being the policy being advocated. If there is a continuation of the current policy, Pakistan do not need any external enemy. It will dismember itself.

Ironically, for people who believe in Karma..... all the negative things that india is doing against neighbooring countries, subjugating people, and sponsoring terrorists who kill innocent men, women and children aimlessly should come back to haunt them.. while this is a universal belief, its especially more poignant for believers in Karma.....

Indians need to question and protest the actions of their government, army and more importantly its out of control intelligence agencies (RAW)

Thank you! Wonder where your country would have been only if your countrymen could have questioned your govt's role in Bangladesh genocide, support to Taliban, 26/11 etc.
