These pictures came out right after IA received the rifles and were handed over to some soldiers in a training range. They'd be equipped with sights and folks when deployed with active troopsYou must admit these are beautiful weapons ! Kudos ! However,no sights or grips ?

I like your username.
Will they use these guns to fight with Chinese soldiers occupying their lands?
Was this their excuse just like the "Raphale" excuse on 2/27?

IA is procuring Gun & Helmet mounted sights from Tonbo, MKU & BEL
Tavors are only for Special Forces. The 5.56 rounds have proved to be ineffective which is why we wanted to switch to an AK or NATO round. The Sigs are for frontline infantry troops while the rest would be equipped with AK-203's if that deal goes throughThese are battle rifles. For 5.56, we have enough Tavor in the service already.
So why is India buying 72k caracal carbines. The army of South Sudan has better procurement programs. Some generals and their future generations would have good retirement plans.Tavors are only for Special Forces. The Car816 deal has been stalled in the first place. Secondly, that deal was for carbines and you can't induct an AR for Carbine requirement. IA still has the vintage SAF Carbine 2A1 in service which requires immediate replacementSo why is India buying 72k caracal carbines. The army of South Sudan has better procurement programs. The Caracal deal is not stalled, they have some issues with the percentage of commission. Stupid argument about Sig versus AK 203. It’s not about frontline troops, its about what their operations are. Different Calibers different uses. So what you are saying is that if a unit moves from the LOC to a Cantonment, they will be changing rifles? In PA, units have both G3’s and AKs and they train on both. The bottom line is that Indian Army really #ucked up with the INSAS and now they are running around like headless chickens. The Car816 deal has been stalled in the first place. The rest of Insas will be replaced by a locally manufactured rifle, be it the AK-203 (currently on hold due to costing issue) or some other Assault Rifle
Bottom line is there would be one replacement for Carbines while Assault Rifle category will see Sig-716 (144k) for frontline troops and 760k license manufactured AK-203's or a similar weapon for the rest.
