What's new

Indian Army Corps commander in Kashmir offers Namaz during Ramadan.

Like I said, this may be for internal organization's consumption as well. Indian politics today is highly polarized by religiosity. So the rank and file of Army which is from Indian society is also likely polarized the same way. But Army cannot afford too much one dimensional polarization for its own good. :undecided:

I understand what you are saying

But being a Muslim this is so laughable for us. I can't even count the number of basic rules of Islam Pandey jee has broken by doing this drama

I think the Indian army is the army of people. Respect for other religions is also a good gesture. Yes, there are issues like killings in Kashmir but everything can be easily solved through negotiations. This picture clearly shows their professionalism.
@doorstar was right about you all along

Muslims will never do Puja because it goes against their basic principles of faith.

If Hindus want to do Namaaz, because it may not be against their own faith, then so be it. Why are Muslims faulted in this case.

See the problem is that you think that reciprocity in religion should be equal to the action that was done. This is one concept that Hindus do not understand when it comes to Islam, where there are rigid boundaries when it comes to worship and God.
i am a non practicing hindu but as a senior manager in a pvt company, i had to once do puja during ganesh festival in tbe company and i did it.
Our family never goes to temple so i was totally ignorant of how to do the rituals.
In a multicultural society , these actions are sometimes unavoidable , when you are in a senior position.
It didn't change me into a believer

Is all of that allowed for public display? So hinduism encourages fake displays for improving public relations?

P.S. the tweet was deleted because of intolerance of a group of Hindus but the hypocritical qtiya I quoted starting bashing Islam on secularism.. shameless PoS.
Nothing new except social media is everywhere.
Nearly all units have places of worship of all religions. From a very long time.

And before bashing Hindus or Indians, guys here need to introspect why you perfect people are slaughtering each other, all over the world and in your proximity ?
Also why any gestures of co existence are so upsetting to people here ?
Remember your current heart throb immy , replaced a advisor on the first day of appointment, because he was a ahmediya.
India has many flaws but it did have a PM from a community of 2 % for 10 years.
We have also had innumerable muslim and sikh presidents.
Its a joke when Pakistanis question any country, forget India, on tolerance.

He was accompanied by senior officers of his army corps.
I guess even if India in a hypothetical scenario would have been Muslim majority (not that we will ever be), we still would've been ideological enemies with Pakistan like we always have been😜.

But I hope Pakistan gets rid of its religious fundamentalism so that both India and Pakistan can talk with each other respectfully and solve most, if not all of the outstanding issues between each other. There's a lot of commonality in both the countries if people insist on a united culture rather than religion. Unfortunately, the fundamentalists, especially the Islamic ones are not ready to accept it and will go to extreme lengths to disassociate themselves from the land of their birth while trying to emulate faraway Arabs and Turks according to their own convenience. As a Hindu, I find this absurd, but that's how ideologies work I guess. The export of Wahhabism has altered the fabric of South Asian Muslim societies where people have become more and more rigid with respect to their faith. The reaction of the Hindus was expected and you wouldn't have required any seer to foresee that.
