This was the realty in 1999 too.
Neither side had a good delivery system during that time, they do now, so no.

It all depends on who's proven to be the aggressor, not merely who initiated the over action of war. If India carries out targeted strikes in response to a Parliament like or 26/11-like attack, and there was sufficient evidence, even China would be hard pressed to back you.

As for nuclear, if you are the aggressor and you threaten nuclear warfare, the world powers will have little option but to crush you before letting the Asia - the only region of a substantial growth, descend in to nuclear dust.
The reasoning would not matter, because the threat of nuclear winter would be too high.

.
india's and pakistans problems are too messy even for the US, no country is stupid enough to intervene. even the UN is backing off. time for more dialog.

Does not work that way, if Pak is the aggressor as it has always been - it would never be allowed to launch any nukes. You know it, we know it, the world knows it, which is why your nuke threats from your establishment is laughed off.

.
If Pak was agressor it would have never been stop supporting Kashmiries like before and cud have complicated situation by helping Khalistan moment but not like india whos involve aproxy in blouchistan and Afg...

Because the rest of the world has control over Pakistan's nukes, right? Don't be ridiculous. Regardless of aggression, the world would not tolerate a war between two nuclear powers, that is a fact. Your points are nothing more than fantasy.

NEW DELHI: India is prepared to face offensive military action on its borders should the need arise, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh said here on Tuesday, adding that any future conflict was expected to be short and swift.

The Hindu quoted him as referring to the ceasefire violations along the borders in Jammu and Kashmir, which have put relations between India and Pakistan under a strain. This had made New Delhi aware of the need to remain prepared, General Singh said.

According to The Hindu, the general was speaking at a tri-service seminar on the 1965 Indo-Pak War. “The army chief said a very high level of operational preparedness at all times has become part of India’s strategy as there is recognition that the swift, short nature of future wars is likely to offer limited warning time,” according to the paper.

Take a look: Pakistan is not Myanmar, will respond to foreign aggression, Nisar tells India

It said the comments came against the backdrop of alleged ceasefire violations by Pakistan which had put India on alert. “As we look ahead we can see that our threats and challenges become more complex. As a result the commitments of the Indian Army have increased manifold in scope and intensity in past few years. The frequent ceasefire violations and infiltration bids by our western neighbour always remain live and active,” he pointed out.

Without naming names, the army chief accused Pakistan of employing “new methods to create unrest in Jammu and Kashmir” and said the recent instances of terrorist violence are “clear pointers to extend this arc of violence to other areas”.

The Hindu recalled that General Singh’s comments followed Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif’s statement blaming India for trying to “impose war on Pakistan”. The Pakistani minister also cautioned India on Sunday that it would suffer “heavy losses” if it tries to “impose” a war on his country.

The two countries have been embroiled in a war of words over ceasefire violations, the paper said. It added that tensions between them escalated after the Gurdaspur and Udhampur terror attacks, which New Delhi asserts were carried out by Pakistani nationals.

After the cancellation of the talks between the National Security Advisers of both sides, following disagreements over the agenda for talks, both countries have accused the other of violating the ceasefire agreement that has led to loss of civilian lives as well as casualties to the defence forces.

While India claims 192 ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir till July 29 this year, Islamabad has countered it by asserting that the Indian forces have committed 37 and 24 unprovoked ceasefire violations on the LoC and the Working Boundary in July and August respectively, The Hindu said.

Ugh, this is one of their "drink tea in lahore" and ect... threats. They can bark all they want; no matter what; all wars will end up like past wars, not much gain.

agreed! people watch way too much movies. war between india and Pakistan was out of the question in 1998 when they tested those nuclear weapons. seriously war! worst case scenario is a full scale troop mobilisation, and bringing out missile launchers so satellites can get their images to show that there ready to use nukes, to force the US and other powers to mediate and prevent any war.

You don't need to have direct control to prevent usage, threat and leverage are enough as history shows. You will simply be forced to sign surrender as you have done before.

Threatening suicide and coming it are vastly different. Nothing in your history suggests you have any such courage. Surrender of '71 in facts strengthens the argument that your generals do have the guys to sign their lives away.

The world will do little, China will do little unless they themselves are threatened, which will only happen if they decide to stick their noses in. US will do little as they usually do. No one is going to come to your aid. The two front war is just another fantasy that you people try to placate yourself with.

Fantasy is Pak delusion of using nukes, particularly the moronic tactical ones that would kill their soil and water supply. No nukes are going to fly in this region, war or not. Rest is just childish attempt at blackmail and tantrum.

Anyway, that little posturing is likely going to be tested in the coming few years. Till then we get to laugh at your officials whining that Pak is a nuclear power.

And this is the dumbest thing you've written. What ways are there. pray tell?

Your comments are mere delusions based on historical events that do no real relevance today. Pakistan has changed, and so has India, get that through your thick head.

Give your bollywood delusions a reality check, this isn't a game.

Personal insults - the final refuge of one out of arguments.

You want specific ways? Plenty - sharing intel on your nukes locations, even joint action to prevent this madness. Who controls the guiding system your missiles use? Who can disable them?

Disclosure of other sensitive secrets. He*k, if your establishment is crazy enough to kill themselves, they would have children abroad, they could be targeted. You are a think tank, are your seriously asserting world powers have no leverage over your establishment that can be exploited even in extreme situations?

As recently declassified documents reveal, Israel offered to bomb your sites back in '84. Plenty of others would join if you guys wish to take down the region and world economy with you.

As for change, provide evidence for the change that demonstrates willingness to commit mass suicide, by your establishment that lives cushy lives. No one is going to take your words at face value, history is the only guide we have.

Like I said, its all about who's the aggressor and who has more card to play at a given time.

I don't even know what your film industry is called to return that last jibe about your nuclear delusions. :(
