Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announces 2024 presidential bid

Vivek Accomplishment.

QUOTE
In 2015, Ramaswamy raised $360 million for the Roivant subsidiary Axovant Sciences in an attempt to market intepirdine as a drug for Alzheimer's disease.[27][30] In December 2014,[31] Axovant purchased the patent for intepirdine from GlaxoSmithKline (where the drug had failed four previous clinical trials) for $5 million, a small sum in the industry.[28] Ramaswamy appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine in 2015, and said his company would "be the highest return on investment endeavor ever taken up in the pharmaceutical industry."[28][30] Before new clinical trials began, he engineered an initial public offering in Axovant.[28] Axovant became a "Wall Street darling" and raised $315 million in its IPO.[31] The company's market value initially soared to almost $3 billion, although at the time it only had eight employees, including Ramaswamy's brother and mother.[28] Ramaswamy took a massive payout after selling a portion of his shares in Roivant to Viking Global Investors.[28] He claimed more than $37 million o_O in capital gains in tax year 2015.[28] Ramaswamy said his company would be the "Berkshire Hathaway of drug development"[3] and touted the drug as a "tremendous" opportunity that "could help millions" of patients, prompting some criticism that he was overpromising.[28]

In September 2017, the company announced that intepirdine had failed in its large clinical trial.[28][32] The company's value plunged; it lost 75% in one day and continued to decline afterward.[28] Shareholders who lost money included various institutional investors, as well as the California State Teachers' Retirement System pension fund.[28] :cray:Ramaswamy was insulated from much of Axovant's losses because he held his stake through Roivant.[28][31] The company abandoned intepirdine. Ramaswamy said in 2018 had no regrets about how the company handled the drug;[31] in subsequent years, he said that he regretted the outcome but was annoyed by criticism of the company.[28] Axovant attempted to reinvent itself as a gene therapy company,[33] but dissolved in 2023.[28]

in short another trump like success

Haha, doesn't have a chance. You think those evangelical Christians will vote for a Hindu? LOL!
What I think is that he should contest as a senator or state government first. Running for President is a big leap. But Trump did that and few others did that before him. So, it is a 50/50 toss up. If Trump is convicted, he has one big hurdle out of his way. He is third in the race among the republican presidential candidates.

More than him winning, he’s going to bring in Indians to vote for republicans. As long as he ends up with a strategic portfolio in the senate, it’s a big win for us.

Do you think most Indians will vote for him?

Most immigrants are democrats and it is hard to make them vote for another party.

Some previous comments on Rishi Sunak

In the UK, it is OVER 80% indigenous white English. They are super proud of their race and heritage although they would never publicly admit to it. They would never vote for an indian NO matter what incentives you give them. They see indians as being way below them any talk of the indian economy would fall on deaf ears. Claiming that there will be an indian UK prime ministers is as far fetched as indian claims that the americans would NEVER EVER leave afghanistan as they need to protect indian interests there.......... :disagree:

Apart from indians, hardly anyone else will vote for him. English, Whites, Blacks, Muslims, East Asians and South Americans will definitely not vote for him. Which indian constituency will vote for him?
A black man will become UK prime minister WAY before ANY other non-white will.
In the UK, things are different. Apart from indians who make up less than 2% of the UK population, no one else will vote for him. In the UK, out of all the non-whites, the blacks are the most privileged and liked by white people.
Nah I don't think so he's a bloody curry muncher.

That's what the average Joe thinks back home.
Nope for tens of reasons. The main being he’s not of native stock.

. . .
There will be hard core left and right who won't vote for him but I think a lot of people in the center including registered Democrats might just do that.

Wokeism and victim culture has gone crazy here. Every lazy useless person who doesn't want to work is now a misunderstood victim who deserves free money.

Seats in college are being taken away from Asian kids including South Asian to be given to black kids with no brains. This is doing a disservice to everyone include the black kid. People assume that every black person at Harvard got there only on affirmative action which is not necessarily the case.

Same for jobs . Every company has nominal diversity employees whose only job is to cultivate their melanin.

Affirmative action was meant as pay back for Jim Crow. But the people paying the price are Asian not White.

People are losing their common sense. This has got to stop.

You do realise he lost a leadership contest to be PM, and became a prime minister as the person he lost to couldn’t do the job.
He is now the most unpopular PM since Blair and has refused to hold elections lol.
You can celebrate that all you want.

Laughing hard, a Hindu can never be the leader of Evangelical Christian USA.

Those racist drunk fvcking cowboy rednecks.

I thought he was a salesman, turns out he's a fraud. Americans have some great choices for their politicians.
