Indian Air force to have 46 squadrons in 2025

such plans are always made but they dont really materialize........

because babus dont feel good without there shear man .
sir mitha to banta hai....wo gal alag hai ki humare babu methe mein methe ki poori dukaan hi maang lete hai...sir to be frank their is not even a single country in the world which is immune to corruption....that's why i say corruption aate mein namak ki tarah ho to chalta hai but sub continent countries mein to namak hi namak hai aatey ka to naam hi nahi hai....

46 squadron mean 800+ aircraft . . What configuration we will have that time
Mig 29 and M2k will be out of service. .
300 mki
126 mrca
100 fgfa
200 lca
What we have now in almost 150 mki . . So we have to induct almost 700 new one . . . Means 45 every year from now . . . How much it is possible . . Also we forgeting new trainer too Which we have to induct

M i missing something?

I don't think we are upgrading our Mig 29s to Mig 29SMT and M2K to M2K-5 standards to retire them as early as 2025...... they would retire only by 2030-2035 period...... we currently don't have any thing to replace them.

AMCA would replace the Mig 27 and Jaguar fleet which would retire around 2025 not Mig 29/M2K.....

2025 will have....

272 Su 30MKI,
69 Mig 29SMT,
51 Mirage 2000 upgraded to M-2000-5/9 standards
126+63 MMRCA
200 Tejas MK I+II
100 PAK FAs+FGFAs
20 AMCA

Which makes up 46 COMBAT squadrons of IAF.......which would increase to 60 possibly by 2030 with addition of about 250-300 AMCAs.
Possible acquisition might include F-35 and Mig LMFS In small numbers.....i.e around 50-100 depending upon situation in Pakistan.
Note......all number are excluding additional acquisition of 4/4.5 th generation and 5th generation planes by IN.

Which would include

45 Mig 29K
50 Tejas Naval version
plus N-MRCA upto 100
50 Naval FGFA

about 10 squadrons which might well be 15 depending upon the size of Aircraft carriers made after 2020.
With about 4 ACs in operation it would be one hell of a force to reckon with !!

i agree with you specially last part we have now even no atta all gone to corruption

The article assumes 10 AMCA + 10 FGFA squadrons by 2025. In all likelihood, IAF may get 5 squadrons of PAK-FA/FGFA and 1 squadron of AMCA. That's the reason why Mirage 2000, MiG-29 and Jaguar are going through upgrades and extra MMRCA are being planned. Who knows, a few Bisons may still be around in 2025.

Does this strength include chopper and transport plane too

yep all sqns mean overall as i think .

No this purely relates to fighter SQDs (21*46= 966) if you were to include all Helo, UAV, transport and other AC in IAF it would be almost 100 SQD by 2025, probably more given inductions pending and planned for 5-10 year time frame.

More likely no indian red tape and HAL delays

270 su30 mki = 15 sqds @ 18 planes each

140 tejas mk1 & 2 = 7 sqds

126 mmrca = 7 sqds

50 mirage2000 = 3 sqds

50 mig29 smt = 3 sdq

FGFA 50 BLOCK 1 = 3 SQDS = 680 PLANES AND 38 SQDS

i read somewhere 126 may become 189 is it true??

Being overly optimistic would only justify as much, as to consider maybe a glimpse of the AMCA by 2025...,20 individual AMCA is beyond preposterous! let alone squadrons

it would be a record in avivation industry to built a fifth gen aircraft in 10 years..as AMCA hasnt started yet...
so assuming it start around 2013 and be completed by 2023...

with history of LCA, would india be able to do it? noone has ever done it so quickly though..
