Indian Air Force by 2025 (if no Pak FA)

I often open old threads and links of Future of Indian Air force, and after reading content I just smile :-)
But still your air force. ... :D
By 2020 IAF was supposed to consists of

272 Su30MKI
124 Rafale
144 Su50
FGFA
AMCA
Tejas Mk1 & Mk2

Things are going BIT different now :azn:
Well, India never asked about Su50.
As AMCA is under development and it was almost impossible to make a fifth generation fighter in 5 years with one more 4G fighter(Tejas Mk2), kindly tell what your country is developing.
Let's assume 2025,
Understood about FGFA and you must also be pointing towards only it, not other projects which are going by schedules. :azn:

It wasnt. The French didnt want to partner with HAL, nor did want to take any responsibility for HAL produced Rafales.

Dassault wanted to work the Indian Reliance. This might happen now, because they're not hand cuffed to HAL anymore. And are talking with Reliance to make their regional planes and even Rafales if India extends it's order.

Sometime I wonder why they want to work with Reliance. Reliance just created an aerospace company. No experience, no research experience, no industrial base, no real manufacturing capability, no metallurgical knowledge, or experience, Nor they want to do any r&d rather profit . What they are good in is to buy or takeover the company -- in plain word good buisness.

Mumbai Metro --- Why not Delhi Metro corporation, why Reliance metro -- they have money, buy coaches from china, and engines -- Labelled Reliance Metro and Bingo.

Why not Tata aerospace, or Mahindra Aerospace, or Godrej Aerospace

French don't want Indians to get certain technique like special welding, or Indians to gain some knowledge,

So French will give gaurantee with the Reliance produced Rafale

Not to worry. We are and we were and we will be in better position. IAF better knows than us. There are more intellectual people than us. IAF is gonna complete its target till 2030 by hook and by crook. If anyhow FGFA has no future then we have lots of other option like f-35. IAF is not gonna sit still if something is not working positively. And not to forget we have now strong PM and a strong DM.

HAL offically stated the FGFA is coming a few days back- forget what the Indian presstitues are spouting.

+ I think there is a general misconception of what the FGFA is. The FGFA is simply the designation for the Indian PAK-FA as the MKI is for the Su-27/30 family. Remember the path the MKI took to be born- the IAF made its specifications clear and Indian industry (HAL) worked with Sukhoi to develop the bird that met their needs as such they fitted more advanced avionics from France, Israel and India, Indian sub-systems, canards etc etc. The FGFA is going to be a similar product- an IAF specific version, an "MKIsed" PAK-FA.

The PAK-FA will ALWAYS have to be customised for India- Indian IFFs, data links, sub-systems etc and thus the FGFA will ALWAYS be a reality. The problem lays in the IAF demand for a twin seat FGFA variant and it is hear that trouble may arise. So the twin seat variant may never enter service but the FGFA will most certainly.
I tried to explain the other day but still the same arguments are posted again and again.

As you have mentioned only change would be internal from Russian version to ours, simple. So asking for a twin seater is like asking a whole new fighter itself that literally had to be redesigned reconfigured from scratch again.

Electronics, Avionics, Weapon testing are still going on so don't know what IAF will evaluate in it now. Have to wait until it is accepted by RuAF, most probably next year. Which will still be, by the way, without the designated engine.

I maybe wrong BUT I get the impression that FGFA or indian version of the PAK FA is now not happening .

Russias is refusing to share all the technology or give India ownership rights

India is convinced that PAK FA lacks too much in current guise and not worth the money AND will not pay $4 billion in development cost upfront without no ownership rights..

My question too ALL friends in light of three key events RE iaf procurement plans WHAT will the IAF look like in ten years time ..... AND IS THIS GOOD ENOUGH TO DEFEND INDIAN SKYS from likely foes.

THE THREE KEY EVENTS ARE.

1. Rafale goes to 36 planes only Govt to govt deal NO license manufacture or TOT
2. Tejas will be arriving in form of mk1a 120 planes regardless of IAF reservations to boost make in india
3. FGFA and PAK FA will be shelved for now until IAF seems the PAK FA in Russian service or a prototype in india.
France has agreed to sell the Rafale to India at a concessional cost of $70 million a pop from $110 million. I think we will thus be going in for the original 126 Rafales with TOT, the remainder to be made in India in a joint venture by Dassault, HAL and private companies.

.
no chance will FRANCE sell Rafale for $70m each.... your dreaming PUILSAR

TRY $150 million each

I think Russians won't let the Pak-fa project to fail because Su-50 will be their mainstream jet fighter in future too, the only question is if they will honour their promise of technology transfer and fully authorized partnership to India, or they just use it as a bait to lure international invesment. If Russians cannot keep their words then F-35 is quite a reasonable option. I won't give too much credit to the Mitsubishi ATF-X project because the technology demonstrator is already delayed, and even if with full support from US, the F-3 won't be introduced into service untill 2030s according to Mitsubishi's schedule, whereas F-35 is ready for international market now.
