Indian activist held after screening banned rape film

I don't remember the documentary having disclosed the name. If it did then it was the parents who did. If they are ok with it then why should there be a problem?
No dear ..parents are not above law ..or we have to scrap many more laws related to individuals personal rights

next step of bjp government... arrest anyone from internet who posts anti-bjp ( and anti-the-culture-they promote ) comments.

@The_Showstopper @takeiteasy ^^^
Stop talking nonsense. She as arrested for breaking the law, you can't simply choose to only follow the laws you like/agree with.

And what has this got to do with the BJP? The incident the documentary covers occurred during the UPA's tenure and this arrest occurred in UP.

Are you so out of your mind you think that upholding the law is fascist? I don't know what kind of anarchist banana republic vision you want for india but this won't come to pass.

It was a typical Indian beurocracy fcuk up. First they permitted the BBC group to interview the rapist in prison and then they got upset that the rapist was permitted to express himself on camera thus making India look bad. So they banned the documentary. There is no privilege which exists when the media interviews a prisoner. The prison authorities could therefore have had an official present to monitor the interview. This is simply a case of shooting the messenger which is absolutely stupid in my view
It's actually more than that. The BBC agreed they would a) use the documentary for commercial purposes- it was meant to be purely a social project b) they were meant to hand over all unedited film to the GoI BEFORE airing the film.

They failed to comply to either agreement- they have sold the rights to air this film around the world and thus are earning revenue from it and they had aired the film without handing over the unedited film, they even brought foreword the airing date.

Anyone who breaks the law of land has to be put behind Bars.
As for the screening she knew the consequences, why hue and cry now?

the same nato invasion that happened in libya... nato sending in first its criminal gangs and then its own formal militaries, though in syria the syrian military is taking stand in the cities and its military is also a lot bigger.

don't you know that nato was about to begin a formal land/sea/air invasion of syria mid-2013??
