wats wrong in sitting across table with pakistani leaders and discussing problems? dint BJP government do that too. so why criticise this move?

Ok tell me first if the government is willing to talk now why did they say that we will not talk unless Pakistan addresses our 26/11 concerns. ??

Why talk about Kashmir when the first demand of the Indian government should be (actually was) talks on Terrorism first ??

Of all the talks held till now, what has come out ?? One single improvement or a sign of co-operation from Pakistan on prosecuting 26/11 perperators ??

Did not this Govt first say Pakistan will not be allowed to interview 26/11 witness ?? Why the change of stance now ?? What has Pakistan done to reciprocate this move ??

I can go on and one, but I'll just say this Govt is clearly out of the water in regards to Kashmir issue.

India is currently in a relative position of strength and we don't need talks as much as Pakistan wants. Let the status quo be there, let us develop more and make this relative superiority into absolute superiority and then we can talk from an absolute position of strength.

Don't sweat it guys..India and Pakistan have been discussing Kashmir since last 63 yrs..Infact the most serious discussions on Kashmir were held during NDA regime ..starting 1999 and then 2004..almost all talks break down on the point that .."no territory will change hands. "

while i agree with all u r comments, dont u think it will be a diplomatic blunder if pakistan says they r ready to discuss everything on table including terrorism and india says no we dont wanna talk.

india will never be able to have absolute superiority over pakistan in my honest opinion.

wen MMS says all issues will be discussed i am sure external terrorism will also be discussed and the role of state/non state actors in helping terrorists will also be discussed.

i request u to read a lil before posting u r views. indian govt has already spoken abt giving limited autonomy to J&K.

by the way how come pakistan is worried abt tada laws. please worry abt u r anti blasphemy law. let us deal with our internal issues.

IF Pakistan says that they are ready to discuss Terrorism, then go for talks - I am all for it.

I am just saying India should not say anything first and especially that they are ready to discuss Kashmir.

Are we really in a relative position of strength? Prima facie it may seem so but fact remains that Pakistan is at the focal point of world attention right now. The US is starting their retreat from Afghanistan within an year or so, and then the west will become even more dependent on Pakistan. Our opponent can arm twist them into making any sort of damaging statements/actions against India.

Currently it seems to be a good time to return to the negotiating table. Don't worry, we will soon have another Mumbai, which will give us another opportunity to withdraw from the talks.

I dont know what makes you slip from topic. anyhow many a words has been said in this regard by "politicians of India" however practically nothing really ever has been done ! so that is why I am suggesting that she needs to take some steps to win Pakistan's trust. and yes ofcourse on the other hand Pakistan must also ensure that no fighters will cross into Kashmir to win India's trust !

currently central interlocutors are disccussing this very aspect. they have met seperatists also. insha allah, lets hope something good comes up.

That is a very just demand IMHO. Indians understand we dont need talks as much as They do.
