The Reagan Doctrine isn't a document. In fact the term "Reagan Doctrine" was never used by the Reagan Administration. It was merely a term given by contemporary and later observers of US foreign policy.

To Reagan, the soldiers and insurgents struggling against Communism on battlefields throughout the world were "freedom fighters," a description he particularly applied to the Contras opposing the Sandinista government in Nicaragua. In his February 6, 1985, State of the Union message, Reagan called for support of anti-Communist forces "from Afghanistan to Nicaragua" and proclaimed that "support for freedom fighters is self-defense." Seizing on this passage, conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer announced what came to be known as "the Reagan Doctrine." In Krauthammer's words, this was a policy of "democratic militance" that "proclaims overt and unabashed support for anti-Communist revolution." But Reagan pursued this doctrine selectively. Apart from Afghanistan, which was a bipartisan affair, Reagan tried to roll back Communism only in Nicaragua, and to a limited degree in Angola, where Cuban troops were trying to impose Marxist rule. Apart from these examples, Reagan usually followed State Department guidance in dealing with most world trouble spots and continued policies that were already in place.

..funding and arming of Mujaheddin fighter in Afghanistan was achieved with Congress approval 'overtly' as an extension of the 'Truman Doctrine'...
On March 12, 1947, President Harry Truman stated his Truman Doctrine in an address before Congress. Under this, the US promised to send money, equipment, or military force to countries that were threatened by and resisting communism. Truman stated that the US should "support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures." This began the American policy of containment to try and stop the fall of countries to communism and to halt the expansion of Soviet influence.
I gave you clear examples of the US indirectly promoting hostilites between India and China.

If you cannot refute my claims, then stop wasting MY time with your trollish nonsense.

..promoting hostilities between India and China is your 'wet dream' and not a stated foreign policy objective of the US Administration. So far, all the saber rattling seems to originate from Indian Media.I suppose the beating India received at the hands of China in 1962 has caused deep rooted 'psychosis' and 'paranoia' in your nations psyche. But rest assured, when China does strike we will lend you a hand as we did in 1962.:coffee:

if India wants to top china, she has to invest billions of dollars in infrastructure!

In addition, Pakistan's population growth rate as of 2008 was 2.1%, while India's growth rate was 1.3%.

Please dont be percentage troll..in this prospect the Saudis have the highest birth rate 5.8% yet their population remains under 20 million..its not the number written with %%% but the actual quantity!

The way Indian economy is moving and according to global financial analysts India will soon over take China is the fastest growing economy in the world.

Yes it will..opportunism at best..since the Chinese are trying to cool down and normalize a growth rate for long term stability. The faster the rise the faster the fall. This sudden boosts of economic inflation will take India down the drain when the bubble bursts and economy deflate. And economy is the key factor behind keeping India united. Hence India is arming itself to teeth so it can find reasons to go at war at the end of economic bubble and keep public attention engaged somewhere else.

Now please dont b a quantity troll,u people had made it a habit to use the statistics where it suits u, whatever u find better to bash India,b it % or quantity, that become noble for u,their was a thread here about raising people from slum to good condition's(deleted by mods)in which India raised a much bigger number than China, but %wise below, all of a sudden % was the noble fact, and numerous examples

Really is it so,again it will b only applicable when India is growing at a good pace, china does not qualify for it because of ur personal liking for them.

Economic bubble, give me single example(by some financial analyst rather than some blogs-Pakistani favorite)that Indian economy is nothing more than bubble

Percentage troll? Bozo! When it comes to talking about India's poverty, slums and all that crap, you guys have the gall to shout from the rooftops about the number of poor in India. When it suits you, you say "hey, 4th largest economy and all is no use, look at per capita"?!

Typical Pakistani conspiracy theorists. Is there a special indoctrination of this kind given to every Pakistani?

My point is not to say that China has not done a commendable job in providing a better life to its citizen, actually it did; however there is a lot be done to be called a developed nation. I take GDP per capita as a measure of quality of life. China with a paltry GDP per capita of 3744 dollars is way behind US’s GDP per capita of dollars 45,934;however, China’s GDP per capita is better as compared to India’s GDP per capita of 1,134

of course there is a hell of a lot more to be done, i have never ever said development is done. i was making the point that these authors take the one child policy as a bad thing and base their assertion that
India will surpass china based on youth and democracy, yet at the same time they do not look at the potential problems a runaway population brings and frankly it is very possible that it is worst than an aging population as china can easily remove its policy while India will find it hard to limit population.

As regarding the problem China faces as many problems as India does if not more. There is Tibet, Xingang, Taiwan, disputes with India, Japan and Russia, income inequalities, human right violations, and corruption.

again i know there is alot of problems but again as you know on both sides of the boarder there are problem and this supports the thesis of the article how?

There is nothing wrong with Government controlling; however, I feel entrepreneurial culture is what catalyzes innovation and innovation is measure of better potential and survivability.

i agree but again in what way does evidence show china is any less innovative than india? what has india innovated in the last 100 years?(not indians ie: Americans of india descent, im talking about the country here). while in "communist" china we have companies(private) like huawei helping with coming up with the next generation of cell phone coverage. and what about in the last 1000 years? most of Europe was under imperial rule while they made better guns and all kinds of other machines, imperial china came up with the 4 ancient chinese inventions. private companies are important, innovation is important there is an active push for it in china how successful these effort will be? we dont know yet. but in terms of innovative spirit there is no evidence that some how PRC is any less innovative than others if anything its because in the last 60 years china was more involved with figuring out how to feed itself and reaching a basic standard of living where your people can have time and money to innovate rather than worry about where the next meal is coming from.

IMHO, US has only a minor role in India-China equation.

The important thing is that the Pakistan military is an India-centric force, is being backed by China. (Also by the US, albeit with some hiccups lately.)

Military is not the yardstick for development. So,keep it out of the equation....

How will your development help you when your dhoti is burning with Pakistani nukes manufactured with Chinese support?

Also, if you are relying on the US, you will be disappointed. The US is supplying Pakistan with various weapons which can only be used against India.

Best of Luck then! ... We have our bows and arrows ready.
