India will share a table with the Taliban for the first time tomorrow

. .
the way I see it any group that does not commit violence against India is no enemy of
india and india should negotiate with them. So far, the Taliban has only commited terrorism against Afghanistan and Pakistan, so no problem with India. The important thing as someone mentioned, is that this negotiation is unofficial. This shows how much influence India has in the region that the Taliban would rather negotiate unofficially with India than officially with the Pakistani Government and Army. Depending on how it goes, India could begin official talks with the Taliban and potentially reach an agreement on Indian presence in Afghanistan. It is clear that out of all the major players(US, Russia, and now China) the Taliban prefers India the most. Whatever the outcome, this is good new for India and bad for Pakistan. This is obviously a complex multiplayer chess game originally between Russia and the US with newcomers such as India and China. It's clear that despite delusions of grandeur and self importance, Pakistan is becoming more irrelevant and isolated in the region as India spreads its influence throughout central Asia, Iran and the Arab World and improves relations with China. In the current geopolitical game of Central Asia, Pakistan currently has the importance of a captured pawn. Maybe next time they should stick to checkers.

Indians have been in bed with bad Taliban for years, now they will share the table with good Taliban.

In A First, India To Be In Talks With Taliban At "Non-Official" Level

NEW DELHI:

For the first time, India will be talking to the Taliban but in a "non official" capacity during a multilateral meeting in Moscow on Friday.

Russia is hosting talks for peace in Afghanistan and has invited several countries including India, the US, Pakistan and China. The Taliban will also be part of the meeting.

"We are aware that the Russian Federation is hosting a meeting in Moscow on November 9 on Afghanistan," foreign ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in response to media queries.

India will be part of the talks at a non-official level and will be represented by Amar Sinha, who has served as India's Ambassador to Afghanistan, and T.C.A. Raghavan, former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan.

The move by India came after Russian's Vladimir Putin visited New Delhi last month for a annual bilateral summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"India supports all efforts at peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan that will preserve unity and plurality, and bring security, stability and prosperity to the country," Mr Kumar told reporters this evening.

This will be the first time that India will be a part of talks with Taliban for peace in Afghanistan.

Russian news agency Sputnik has reported that invitations for the meeting, what is being called the "Moscow Format" talks, has also been sent to Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

COMMENT
In September, during the visit of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani PM Modi had said that India was committed to the Afghanistan government's efforts towards an Afghan-led, Afghan-owned and Afghan-controlled peace and reconciliation process.

Nato messed up in allowing India intel to target Pakistan from Afghanistan. Nato would have succeeded easily, if Pakistan military were allowed to train Afghanistan military from the very beginning.

@Path-Finder
Here you go, I told you on the thread of Moulana Sami Ul haq's assassination that R&AW is behind this probably with the help of CIA to hold talks with Taliban but without the influence of Pakistan.

I don't think so, Last week mysteriously Moulana Sami ul Haq murdered who have great influence over Taliban and now suddenly they have meeting in Russia and believe me Russians are very good negotiates especially creating peace between two parties but I am wondering why they are helping Americans to get rid of quick sand named Afghanistan?

A very simplistic and flawed analysis. Nothing to do with Moulana Sami Ul haq who by the way had NO INFLUENCE on the Taliban for at least 2 decades. No matter what anyone says, Taliban are a strategic assets of the planners in Pakistan. Nothing will move without their consent.

Taliban is no more a group as it use to back in 90s, it has so many factions now, the only fact that kept them united is the American presence in Afghanistan. In the mean time now they got a challanger in shape of ISIS. The situation would be messed up once the American leave.

.
India will probably grovel at Taliban's feet to have mercy on them after the Americans leave.
