Pratt & Whitney / Energomash RD-180 :

I don't think India will depend upon this. Our cryo transfer experience has been bad. All our engines will be indigenous. the moment we go to others to get engines we end up in trouble.

He made a mistake !

RD-810 is correct ... :-)

. .
You mean he thought it was an Indian engine?

This is CE 20. CE 60 is still under development- will get built very fast if CE 20 becomes successful I guess because the core tech will be the same.

As mentioned in article, it is ukrainian !

.
We will master cryo tech as GSLV Mk II stabilizes.

The RD-180 will replace CE-20 in ULV after some time.

Where did you get this info? Considering that tech from abroad has created huge delays in our programs, I thnk the approach right now is to build all engine systems on our own.

CE-20 is a cryogenic upper stage !

Looks like we are contemplating the Ukrainian engine but I won't rule
out the possibility of developing our own version to eventually replace it.

No , that is CE-7.5 .

CE-7.5 powers GSLV MK2 .

CE-20 will power GSLV MK3 and ULV in the beginning .

And according to the report , CE-60 will power the ULV after it's completion .

Yeah, so I'm saying it'll be an Indian engine, not a ukranian engine coz of MTCR restrictions.

We cannot rule that out neither is there any credible source to substantiate it .

The Ukrainian Engine RD-810 is a semi cryogenic engine used in the first stage .

It can be selected if there is any delay in our own SC engine development .

RD-180 is a Russian semi-cryogenic engine with 5000KN thrust .

It won't be replacing CE-20 .

CE-20 in ULV will be replaced by CE-60 .

I'm saying MTCR does not allow for any such crucial tech to come down to us. So possibility of using any engine, first stage or not, does not exist.

GSLV has to be successful.

I actually meant RD-810. anyway, RD-810 will be used in first stage.
