India : Who will bell the Hindutva cat?

.
The state is stymieing human rights activists, mainly those that had managed to garner some finances required to fight the fight. Teesta Setalvad’s solid work for the victims of Gujarat pogroms has been stalked by sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). She is accused of misappropriating funds. I can’t imagine a more gross campaign against someone risking her life for the victims of fascism. A close parallel could be the rape charge against Julian Assange, which has forced the whistleblower to retreat significantly if not completely.

good analogy.

The state is stymieing human rights activists, mainly those that had managed to garner some finances. To underscore the brazen abuse of the CBI the Modi government has taken it off the back of Amit Shah, the ruling BJP’s national president. He was accused of murder through fake encounter. Greenpeace has been laid low after its funds were frozen. Countless other NGOs working in fields like environment, education, gender rights, minorities, Dalits and tribals are facing the state’s heat.

but "vishwa hindu parishad" is the biggest receiver in india of foreign funds... why hasn't it been banned??

An AAP woman deputy was brutally attacked by a crowd. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accuses the BJP.

is this about alka lamba??

Sadly, the Left Front is too caught up with its challenges in Kerala and West Bengal to make itself more available at the national level.

the left groups must unite into a single group ( new name and all ) or at least all progressive groups must come under a umbrella grouping... no other option.

 Spoken like a leftist loony.

leftist loony, eh??

ask your father and grandfather about why these loonies brought the safety of employee unions to highly capitalist india.

you are in bangalore... go ask the tens of thousands of ibm-bangalore workers and tcs workers how casually they were kicked out because of non-existence of union in the software industry... why so?? because of the software coward coolies being sanghi sympathizers.

People are already fed up of rampant Hindutva, corruption, suppression of dissent, moral policing, economic mismanagement and failed promises .Sanghis would be shown their real place if there were to be an election today.
And so is the majority fed up with wishy-washy, wavering, irresponsible, minority pandering corrupt politics of left leaning parties. The leftists wouldnt fare any better.

Hahaha.. good one..
Have you heard about Peter Principle btw ?

are you talking about the removed workers??
Yes.. the way it was conducted was wrong and had there been a proper union probably they would have taken it up. But, some of them were basically dead weights. Mid-level managers, who have become managers with no competencies, I know. They were basically milking these companies.

Again, the company bears a part of the responsibility too...

there was a wider issue behind the removals... lack of money in the two companies.

ibm directly and tcs indirectly were greatly affected by the late changes of 2007 american economic downturn, so they were "rationalizing" by removing, as you said, the deadweight.

yahoo's software division in bangalore effectively was shut down and the 500 software people removed, though in better way than ibm and tcs.

these changes in the indian it industry have been going on since 2011.

i don't live in bangalore but i know some people in a print advertisement company there... they said that there are no longer half-page newspaper ads from software companies calling people to interviews... also, they said that basic facilities like tea and coffee are being cut in the it companies.

by the way, the tcs case was taken up later by two umbrella trade unions, citu and aituc, though i don't know about the current status.

:) No one in IBM or TCS or any other company cares. Most of the companies are under constant worry of attrition because there is so much demand. You are applying outdated ideas in a very different world. As for your comments on coolies & the like, a lot of these people earn more money in a couple of years than many others do in a life time. I'm sure remarks like yours would be met with amusement.
