I’m curious what people here think about Nader Shah's invasion of India and sacking of Delhi. I read an interesting theory that said that if it wasn’t for Nader Shah's invasion of India and sacking of Delhi exposing just how weak India was, Europe would never have colonized India. Mughals and Muhammad Shah turned out to be no match for the Afsharid Army of Nader Shah and the Persians. It was in fact the Persians who first made the British aware just how easy it was to conquer India.

Debatable except British no one Was able Conquer India

1000 years Provide Link With Proofs

High level bakad.

What ever the case maybe, my ancestors comes from Central Asia, North which came and swept India, my family lived in Pak-pattan, moved to Lahore centuries ago, and now as Punjabis love our Pakistan. We ruled over entire India for 1000 years, except some independent states of other religions, it was all under Islamic influence.

And I moved to UK, and for me, to and fro from Pakistan is regular.

You do realise your post has nothing to do with the OP.

He attacked when mughals were weak and india in turmoil...
When mughals were strong during times of shah jahan and aurengzeb it was back and forth between. Safavids and mughals

1. Unrelated
2. Unless you've taken a DNA test to verify, this whole story is probably nonsense

The British were involved in sub-continental affairs long before Nader Shah.

I will explain you, it was more of internal hatred as per my family tradition Nader Shah came from Iran, and our ancestor were now in Turkmenistan, who actually came from arab lands as merchants, and converted to Islam. Nadir Shah though arguably had the most powerful empire in the world, but he was atrocious.

Basically this thing explain our family ancestral hatred towards Nader Shah. The Safavids, Nader was probably brought up as a Shi'a but later espoused the Sunni faith as he gained power and began to push into the Ottoman Empire. He believed that Safavid Shi'ism had intensified the conflict with the Sunni Ottoman Empire. His army was a mix of Shi'a and Sunni (with a notable minority of Christians) and included his own Qizilbash as well as Uzbeks, Afghans, Christian Georgians and Armenians, and others. He wanted Iran to adopt a form of religion that would be more acceptable to Sunnis and suggested that Iran adopt a form of Shi'ism he called "Ja'fari", in honour of the sixth Shi'a imam Ja'far al-Sadiq.

For us he was a foreigner, but in arguably India it was considered the same invader when he conquered Kandahar and later got hold of an eye on the Indian Mughal Empire, which than Nader's forces later captured Ghazni, Kabul, Peshawar, Sindh and Lahore.

Collectively Muslims, Shia, Sunni, etc etc, types ruled over North Central Asian States and India, calling Islamic Muslim rulers but they had internal adversaries as well.

I donot want you to believe, though have my shajra nashra, tree of ancestors and linkages dating back to our ancestors and so that is what we have as a proof.

it seems like thre was more to british colonialism of india than mere excuse of nadir shah, reminding how bengal was the first state to be colonised by the british.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_Subah#Economy_and_trade

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proto-industrialization

The Bengal Subah had the largest regional economy in the Mughal Empire. It was described as the paradise of nations. 50% of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the empire was generated in Bengal. The region exported grains, fine cotton muslin and silk, liquors and wines, salt, ornaments, fruits, and metals. European companies set up numerous trading posts in Mughal Bengal during the 17th and 18th centuries. Dhaka was the largest city in Mughal Bengal and the commercial capital of the empire.[citation needed] Chittagong was the largest seaport, with maritime trade routes connecting it to Arakan, Ayuthya, Aceh, Melaka, Johore, Bantam, Makassar, Ceylon, Bandar Abbas, Mocha and the Maldives.[58][59][page needed]

Real wages and living standards in 18th-century Bengal were higher than in Britain, which in turn had the highest living standards in Europe.[60]

Mughal India and Bengal[edit]
Some historians have identified proto-industrialization in the early modern Indian subcontinent,[9][10] mainly in its wealthiest and largest subdivision, the Mughal Bengal[11][12] (today's modern Bangladesh and West Bengal), a major trading nation in the world which had been in commercial contact with global markets since the 14th century. The Mughal region singly accounted for 40% of Dutch imports outside Europe.[13] During the 17th–18th centuries, when the Indian subcontinent was ruled by Mughal Empire's sixth ruler Aurangzeb through sharia and Islamic economics,[14][15] sustained growth was being experienced in manufacturing industries, exceeding China. India became the world's largest economy, valued 25% of world GDP,[16] having better conditions than 18th-century Western Europe, prior to the Industrial Revolution.[17]

The Kingdom of Mysore, a major economic and military power in South India, ruled by Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, allies of Emperor of the French Napoleon Bonaparte, also experienced massive growth in per capita income and population, structural change in the economy, and increased pace of technological innovation, most notably military technology.[18][19]

Bro, most of those were forged by the ruling class during the Islamic era to give themselves legitimacy.

Eh, for much of history the sub-continent has been way too big for most to even dream of conquering large portions of it.

.
Colonisation was a slow process and did not occur suddenly. The brits along with others had their eyes on india before nadir shah. If anything, their colonisation was slow to the west because of Durranis as they didnt want to take on a strong durrani empire.
