First, it the Chinese expert that is comparing India and China and not some Indian, and, second, it is not only West, but Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore that wants India to be number one in Asia.

if you want to go in star atleast u land on the moon...its dont matter either we no 1 place or no 2 place in asia...no 2 place is also very respectful to us.. and i think if we are no 2 place in asia then we are atleast top 5 in the world because everybody knows that this century is belongs to asia..

India indeed are doing well - and have a long way to go. Accept at the moment China is about 10 years ahead of you - and when you catch up to them they will have moved on again. We recently rejected the trilateral pact that Included US - OZ`s - India.
Yes we agree the Chinese are abt 10-15 yrs ahed of us ... but theres nothing wrong in aspiring.... and you dont know whats round te corner , do you?
and for the chinese , no doubt I hate them for trying to encircle us ,but they have done a commendable job of getting ppl out of poverty , which is great for mankind in general!!!

Development is not linear. It has diminishing returns in terms of investments. Hence your point of China being always 10 years ahead of India will not hold. Have you though, why most Chinese neighbours are not comfortable with Chinese rise? why most Chinese neighbours look at India as a hedge against China. Already most of these countries are already in US camp, and China is doing nothing to woo them.

Number 2 is respectable, but number 2 when China is number 1 is unacceptable.

i am not saying that we are aiming very high,i just say that,everybody knows that china is a very strong country if we beat them and take no 1 place in asia that very good for us but if we are not able to beat china and 2nd in asia that will also good for us..
